Well, if we're getting into alignments. . .
I feel like the game is pushing more Lawful Neutral than Chaotic Good, which also falls in line with Thordan's statement, because Lawful Neutral can be scary. We've shown time and time again that we don't do what we do because we're fighting for, say, the freedom of the beastmen from tempering, but because we believe we're fighting for a way things "should" be. And we do so by submitting to the will of the Goddess who, if Ifrit is not wrong, has tempered us and we don't really have a choice about it.
Even the Dark Knight quest falls back on this. There's a bit of chaos in there, but it submits to the law in the end.
Purely from the actions of the character and no RPing standpoint, I can't see the WoL falling anywhere near Chaotic Good. That would require rejecting Hydaelyn's orders and going at it on our own. Which, I admit, would be interesting and would be totally okay with. That could be how they neuter our power for another expansion.
How I see it is with the Blessing we are the enforcers of Hydaelyn's will and protection on, er, the land of Hydaelyn. If we don't do our jobs, we lose Her favor.
(And my opinion is, if we become strong enough to kill an Ascian without an outside aether source, Elidibus is right: we're too strong. That's just breaking the laws of reality.)

Any info I post taken from another language is always translated by someone else that I just repost (with full credit of course). I think Catapult and Moose are the ones to talk to about getting info from the other language versions of the game, as my understanding of German, French and Japanese is next to nil I'm afraid.
I'd like to know, though!
