I am quite the opposite
I do RP and too lazy to create a mirror of myself in other race, and seemingly most MMO design their outfit base on Human model
FFXIV Is a exception, I choose Miqo'te over Hyre highly becoz the lore behind keeper of the moon

My EQ2 characters were RP.

I don't like to RP myself, mostly because the game gives you a chance to *not* be yourself. And both dark elves and Arasai are evil... Arasai were created by the dark elf Queen by torturing the spirit buds of developing/reincarnating Fae. They think of Queen The as their Goddess Creator.

I tend to have similarities to myself, but being a pre-transition Trans Male, kinda hard to completely remake my character in game. Even if I wanted to.

I do, however, tend to always have a tall character (I'm 6'2"), long hair (mine's about 3ft in length currently iRL), blue eyes, and wide (-ish)jaw and shoulders (things I was at least blessed enough to be born with.)

Majority of the time, however, I'll go with something that has good animations. As most of the time in game, during combat and whatnot, I'm looking more at the motion of my character than any real details XD

I have multiple characters for RP, but my main is made to have features resembling me. Female, Long brown hair and heterochromatic eyes are all personal features I share with my avatar. Sure my eyes are Brown and Blue, not Pink and Blue, but Pink is cuter than brown, you can't fault me for wanting to optimize certain features. I'm not small like a Lalafell, but I like how they're rotund.
