Concerning Gil and Server transfer in the looming shadow of the Chaos DC Move!

So, I have been on an EU server with a bunch of my RL friends and my brother. We have been working hard and saving up to buy an FC house. Now the server is going to be moved to ACTUALLY be in Europe... My question to the dev's how can we move servers ... (to a US server) and still keep our gil that we have worked very hard to earn? Also if there are any other players that have found a way to combat this punishment for RMT existing and screwing normal players your help would be greatly appreciated.

you might lose some in the process. though for my millions. i bought stack on stacks of shards, crystals and clusters of each element.

i was lucky that the server i was going to was more pricey at the time for me. i bought most of mine for 40-60 gil a shard and they were going for 150-300 a shard on the new server.

depending on how the economy is. you might lose gil. just that you would not lose all of it. while you would also be waiting for the said items to resell on the new server. so at times it is a long term commitment to getting it back in real gil at times.

just have to take the discretion.

also 1 transfer price can work for 8 characters in 1 transfer. so you can have 1 million on each one transfer with the single fee. do that with each FC member and you could probably keep all your saved gil as well.

Assuming you don't have a crap load of Gil:

Mail 1million via Mog Mail to yourself/brother/friends. Mog Mail maxes out at 20 letters, so thats 20mil each.

I think free transfers are exempt from the gil limit?

If that's not the case you could buy high value items and keep them in your inventory and then sell them at your destination realm; you could lose gil this way but you could also make gil depending on the items.

Check for the Allagan Tin/Bronze/Silver/Gold pieces on the MB, too. I see them sometimes at about vendor price, which might be a way to convert some money for the transfer as well, if there are enough up.
