    It goes further than just the copied terrain. Why is uldah the favorite place? Location, location, L-O-C-A-T-I-O-N. Look at the world map and see how uldah is in the center of the main road in the game. Sound like Jeuno anyone? What needs to happen is the city states need to be located at the three corners of the map with coerthas and mor dhona in the center with safe passages leading to and from each city. I hope this is being implemented.

    It's hardly been an issue with XIV for me.

    XI was copypasta everywhere with it's un-necessarily huge environments no one ever complained enough to change that.

    There are certain areas that dont really need fixing and have a richness to them for each of the zones i hate to say it but these are almost all with eyeline from the city.

    For example me and a friend are doing story together and are at the 34 quest. You have to go to mor dhona and plant stuff, the route from crimson bark, coerthas and lower mor dhona all have aggro in them that is unavoidable- i think we have to zombie this part because the crimson bark path is unshakeable.

    I hope they dont destroy the scale of these areas as a whole too badly but thats my only concern. And judging by the plan subdividing doesnt sound like destroying.

    Also are the cities slated for redesign? someone was mentioning ul dah strength and its that its a middle ground but its also the easiest city to get around --- ul dah city council has good planners that dont worry about hurting trees unlike some places.

    p.s. There is one hill by nanawa(sp?) mines that when you look back at ul dah has a gorgeous view even during sandstorms- please leave it be.

    It may not be an issue for you but it is for many other people. It was one of the major complaints in critical reviews. So if they ever want to get past that 49ish metacritic score they need to fix this.

    REDESIGN PLEASE.

    Seriously you cannot tell me that if the game placed you in some random location you would know where you were exactly. In FFXI, I would ALWAYS know where I was because everything was generally different in each map (maybe not Attohwa). But in FFXIV, my eyes glaze over because the textures are so ridiculously similar around every corner and in every cave - especially on the overworld map.

    REDESIGN PLEASE.

    Can someone explain to me what Dalamud is? I've heard it a few times now in the story but I don't know what it is for sure. Perhaps I haven't got that "revelation" i the story yet.

    How can anyone be AGAINST map redesign? The zones are way to big. We need smaller zones with more variety and their own uniqueness, not 3 giant zones that all have the same exact mobs.

    The map redesign is already set in stone, and is already going to get implemented. This is a waste of your time OP.

    As for the transitions, even doing it a few malms before the zoneline and adding things to the horizon would suffice.
