Old Lustrate wasn't 30%
Lustrate was 25% before update. 25% of 19000 is 4750. Tested at my current gear at ilvl190 only on myself (no available tank), with healing magic at 939, Lustrate averages at 4.5k. The difference is not that great between 25% on a tank with that high of HP and the now potency of 600. Considering that Lustrate is also just as useful at healing DPS and tanks with lower HP means the skill was indeed buffed at the trade off of no longer being useful under cleric stance.
I would not be surprised if SE did a 180 on the potency buffs astro's received a few months back and tone back our heals a tad bit in the upcoming patch as to not encroach on the pure healing strength of the white mage.
To me, I feel like Lustrate was nerfed. While yes, from a healing perspective, it did receive a boost. But the important thing that was lost was its utility. The ability to have a solid flat heal even while under Cleric Stance.
The potency boost and the ability to crit is more than enough for me about lustrate
But it's true that I would love to use it on CS
(Especially to help from time to time my-heal who solo heal)
I must say I would much rather AST have a free benefic II on proc like WHM does instead of an instant one.
More SCH? Far from the truth. WHM was practically told to get out of the mitigation business and leave that to the SCH with the removal of graniteskin trait.
You still have to actively manage MP for WHM/AST, the skill ceiling for using appropriate heals is higher now because the current MP-skill cost ratio at level 60 relative to current gear.
Except WHM has better MP management capabilities, and for longer fights WHM are the go to. They've also got better dps. All the healing potencies did was bring them in line so it's not such an obvious gap of which healer you'd rather have.
Ast is better at mp management, with the reduced cost
The mp card and the ability to extend mp regen with celestial opposition
It's easier to preserve mp
(Ok when aoe heal, the ast might be in trouble... I can agree with that)
