As it has been pointed out already if you know what's going to happen (like that dragoon standing in tonz swing), you can precast cure / stoneskin. I think we don't need more instant cast abilities (not to mention that my skillbar is pretty much already stuffed enough)

Mouse click Cure II when you really want to save that Tetra or cast free Cure II - which is not that often.

So how AST can instant cast Benefic II (Cure II) when it procs, it would be awesome if a proc'ed Cure II could be instant.

Instead of being 0 MP? Or you want both?

If you want both, then as an AST I want my procced Benefic 2 to be free and insta <3

I think the difference between the healing classes has already been MASSIVELY greyed out since 3.0.

They made whm more sch, sch more whm, and ast whm/sch hybrid. As a healer I miss the 2.0 days where lustrate is extremely OP, and whm actually have to MP manage and press just the right amount of buttons to be effective.

More SCH? Far from the truth. WHM was practically told to get out of the mitigation business and leave that to the SCH with the removal of graniteskin trait.

You still have to actively manage MP for WHM/AST, the skill ceiling for using appropriate heals is higher now because the current MP-skill cost ratio at level 60 relative to current gear.

You shouldn't need to rely on instacast to heal with WHM. If so, you, or your tank, are doing something wrong.

The healers are very similar to each other already but all three have a niche that makes them shine with something. WHM has HoTs, big heals and some burts damage but even so we have Tetra, Assize, Benediction and swiftest too. Our toolkit is good, more of the others would risk to make us OP.

Exactly. The last thing this game needs is more homogenizing. I prefer my SCH over my WHM for some content and other content I prefer my WHM. I started an AST and so far I like that it is unique in it's play style.

I don't want to see any of the three healing jobs lose their niche. I've seen this happen in other MMO's and it ruins the job/classes.

You can't really count Swiftcast. It invokes the GCD, and the animation associated with it adds another delay.

Matter of instant heal, the job that should complain the most is astrologian, since Aspected benefic is gcd, light speed doesn't remove gcd, benefic II proc is still in gcd. The only real emergency heal from astrologian is essential dignity. The skill description/mechanic suggests to use it like an emergency skill for more efficiency anyway.

Instant heal is nice but it's better without gcd.

Also, counting 50% health as emergency means either your tank is wearing cheese, if the next hit can potentially kill them, or you are under estimating them.

Well, a lot of them are wearing STR gear. And some savage minicleaves hit quite hard. Easily over 50% with their tank stance down, which is also a thing.
