Nothing really on the conversation, but Cape Westwind is in Trials Roulette, not Main Story.

i could swear I got it the other day running MS. Days have sadly been running together on me, and it's very possible I mixed it up with the Trial Roulette.
Either way, just omit Cape from my post, still holds the same meaning. *nod nod*

On the other hand, a lot of people run ms roulette for experience, and therefore wouldn't be eligible for arf. Only max level characters would be able to end up in arf and get the law from bosses and eso from roulette reward. Both kinds of story dungeons would be populated.I already pointed out the issue with it being in MS Roulette, cause even if no one queued currently needed it, ARF would end up being chosen more often than Cas, Prae and Cape for just being a 4 man (Same happens, if you queue for Guildhest... which is the closest equivalent in game atm) and many who run the MS atm are used to the speed run-ability of those three.
Hrm... haven't done it in a while myself so I can't recall properly but I believe the mid boss had a cutscene too??
What I do remember is that the last boss has more than 1, there are at least 2, and nope, they dont lock you out of the fight for those that are not in the cutscene. They aren't exactly short either (as in 10 seconds or so cutscene), they last a minute.
For some its "oh whats to wait a single minute?" whilst for others would be "oh damn I have to wait one minute?! again?!!"
At least the dungeon is 4-man and it shouldn't suffer of the same magnitude of problems as, say, Preatorium.
Just to picture it for an example, imagine Neverreap last boss had a 1 minute cutscene entry and every time you got a newbie in the party they ended up watching it. If they are a DPS I can totally see them being left outside of the fight altogether :/ (maybe not always, but would definitely happen).
While you shouldn't have to, and I agree it should be added to a Roulette, you can pay people gil in Party Finder and you'll have ARF completed in the next 30 minutes. Whether it's AFK airship crafting, Ultros and Typhon, or ARF. A lot of people are happy to end their Idyllshire boredom for 25-50k. A lot of times you'll run into players who were simply happy to assist you and don't want your gil. It's not ideal but it's the easiest way to get things done if your friends network isn't huge.

I'm sorry but.. get good?
Did this dungeon when we were all in the minimum required ilevel gear to queue for it and finished it in one go, I don't see how anyone could fail this unless they do it on purpose

You can't control other players. =\ If they were saying THEY were wiping the group, then this would be a proper statement. But as is, it could have been a troll, a bad tank or a bad healer.
It's now a point in the game where most of those who do try to play their class well are up into Savage. And they're outlining the issue that it's not so much the wiping, but that people aren't really running ARF anymore. Forcing them to be stuck behind a gate into the rest of the content.

No need to be rude about it. It's duty finder. Considering how easy it is to run into people in 190+ average gear that still manage to do less damage than people could do at level 50, this really isn't all that surprising.
BLM changes a lot when you get to 60 too, and I don't think most people want to stop enjoying story to go nuke a dummy for a while right after they hit level 60. At least she was trying to use it, while I regularly run into decently geared black mages that still use the 2.0 rotation.
So apparently this dungeon is not in a roulette at all.
Who thought that was a good idea?

I managed to get a party, one of my FC mates joined me and this time, it was a smooth run.
I went in as Scholar and healed it, didn't have the peace of mind to stand at a dummy and practice the new BLM rotation.
Now I do.
I generally watch video guides for new dungeons, so I had a rough idea what's coming up.
I also normally look where the others stand or run in certain situations and try to keep up. This worked fine, too.
Did the trial right after, then the other 2 dungeons for the expert roulette.
This was really a roadblock, but I have it out of the way now.
I'd like to add that my FC mates were running a PVP team.
They're not bad or unhelpful normally, they're just trying to get some action started as a community.
Me having weird shifts (as is often the case in Japan) didn't really help.
Doing DF isn't particularly helpful, especially not on our server, for stuff that's not basically instant gratification. Half of the groups are Alexander, the others Fates. Once in a blue moon something else pops up, so there's just no reason for people to even check what's going on.
Anyways, I got it done and like to thank you for your offers to help me out. It's really appreciated.
As for the problem at hand, I really hope SE does something about it. I'm sure the more time passes, the worse this will become.
