Graphic/texture glitches (DX11); compile to SE for fixing

I want this thread to be a compilation of reports for the devs to read so that they know and are aware of the graphical glitches in DirectX 11. There's a whole slew of them, but I would like us users to compile pictures on this thread to bring to SE's attention so that it will help the devs fix spots in the overworld that have glitches with DirectX. Say for instance, those tarps in Costa Del Sol where we start levequests. Those sky blue clothes actually have a graphical glitch that makes them look like sponges. I'm not able to take a picture right now as I'm away from my game and PC, however you can see them for yourself if you are playing on PC with DX11. I'm wanting to make a thread such as this so SE could fix and patch up areas to make this game look the best as possible.

So has anyone else found anything else wrong in the terrain or textures on 3D models?

You know I didn't notice what you were talking about until I went to Costa Del Sol and looked for myself, but you're right! If I turn Parallax Occlusion from High to Normal the effect goes away, though the texture without it looks so flat and boring. Here's a before and after comparison, taken at night. All my other settings are just about maxed out on DX11. The images are resized from my native resolution but the different can still be seen quite clearly!

Compared to this, the grain on the wooden planks and the details on the metal rivets for the deck actually enhance their appearance. I'm not sure what material the canvas is supposed to be made of, but that's nothing I'd expect from leather or cloth...

Similar issue with the nearby boat's sails. At a distance it looks like how I would expect the stretched canvas material to look, but up close it kind of reminds me of foam bath mats.

Parallax Occlusion on hills/mountains looks quite bad, and I have to assume it's a bug. It would be better disabled altogether on mountains.

Here's an example of it being used properly:

Not sure what keeps causing my errors, most seem to be triggered/resolved when loading into new areas, or restarting game. They include warped polygons, missing textures, and wrong icons for skills/items. Bad enough that I just play on DX9 now.

If it's the only game doing it with DX11 that's one thing, but if you have other games to test this with it might be worth a peek into the support side of the forum. This is more of "this effect looks bad, please fix it" and less to do with glitches and errors. (At least, the way I interpret the OP's request.)

I posted this is another forum but I'll share it here. It's the Text/UI glitches/flashes I get with AMD Crossfire on DX11.

After having taken a course in 3D Game Animation for college, I typically tend to turn off a lot of things as is. Mostly cause I know the more 'flashy graphics' that are on, the more developers can be lazy and hide mistakes... which I personally hate.

For anyone unaware, Occlusion is when a Black and White 'copy' of a scene is made and overlaid on a multiplied layer to darken any shadows. When those shadows are also bump-mapped to cause the illusion of depth, it can make things look really bad.

This is why the "high" setting on the Parallax Occlusion looks so bad. Because it's causing much deeper shadows on the bump-maps.

That said, areas with a lot of bump-mapping really shine on the problems with it. The bump-mapping needs to be scaled back when using Occlusion, or the Occlusion needs to not interact with the bump-map.

Ul'duh makes an excellent ground to really show the issues between the two. I've turned everything up as well to help showcase how even with the flashy graphics on, we can still notice the issue.

Occlusion Setting - Location; Things to Note

Occlusion on High - Outside GC; Pillar, Water and Stonework

Occlusion on Normal - Outside GC; Pillar, Water and Stonework

Occlusion on High - Outside Aetheryte Plaza; Floor Stonework

Occlusion on Normal - Outside Aetheryte Plaza; Floor Stonework

Occlusion on High - Emerald Avenue; Wall, Light Pillar, Stairs, Ground Stonework

Occlusion on Normal - Emerald Avenue; Wall, Light Pillar, Stairs, Ground Stonework

The Issue with Parallax Occlusion is simple, due of Low Resolution Textures. It would look different if we would have HD Textures or even 4K Textures, though ... only a few would run it at 30/60 Frames.

This is right, given the Fact they did not had that many Time to built A Realm Reborn, the Graphics are yet still fine and as they stated, more DX11 Features are coming later.

There have been Issues with Grass/Tree Flickering since A Realm Reborn due of Transparency Textures, SMAA would make a difference for that.
