Except the rules don't currently say that. Right now, there's only two rules that effect parsers, and neither of them deal with parsers directly. Those rules are:

    1) No third party software.

    2) No harassment.

The only reason posting numbers is currently disallowed is because it's proof of you using third party software which can technically get you banned. However, SE tends to turn a blind eye to parsers unless people use those numbers to harass others. Yoshi has stated in the past that they have to be against parser usage simply because it goes against the third party software rule of SE, but it was very clear that he had no problems with parsers themselves.

Quite frankly, parsers are already widely used in this game, we just have this weird setup where we can't talk about them. It would be nice (as a PS4 player myself) to have those numbers accessible regardless of platform and be able to openly talk about them.

For me personally, there isn't a single thing they could add to this game to make me happier than if they added a fully functional parser.

You don't need a parser, you have access to this board. Go to DPS board, and look up your Role.
You will see optimal rotations and ideas for rotations. All kind of people talking about it.

What too much work to read something... go make another useless thread then.

This is unbelievable! I just got "harassed" in leveling roulette by a new player who clearly had no idea that you should not talk about using parser.

They were talking about their dps being so low and how much they envy our dps, while "threatening" us that they are going to try harder...

We can't allow this to happen again! :P Derp

    OMG this argument again.

    OK...
HOW are you supposed to know that you are underperforming and need to look up optimal rotations?
How are you supposed to know that you are perfectly able to handle the rotation and a different one wouldn't be better for you?
How are you supposed to know how to change your rotation based on mechanics if you don't know what costs you how much DPS?

Let me add one more point.

Is there any black list thread which we could read and see which players are "Netflix offenders" so that we can boot them out of the group at the start of run?

I would really read it before each trial fight, just to prevent the frustration from wiping again and again on dps checks.

I have never seen unwarranted "harrassing" with parsers.
What I have seen is dps not using integral skills (heavy thrust, aeolian edge, fire 4), and you best believe I call them out. I'm on PS4.

It's simple math. We have the potency of our spells and skills. All that's left is to do a rough estimate which skill usage gives you the most potency in a given situation. Things that are self-explanatory through this: Use combos; keep DoTs up; keep self-buff up; keep slash/pierce/blunt debuff up; hit positionals if possible; use long CD abilities; use AoE only when X or more targets are hit; make use of proccs; watch your ressources.

When exactly to pop blood for blood, that's something you'd want a parser for. Doing the math is a mess. But that's high level optimization, maybe necessary for savage, but hopefully nowhere else.
Why should I take out a spreadsheet and read through the mess on my combat log if i want to know how much DPS I did in a fight, if I can have a much easier way of doing so?

As for your second statement, a lot of players enjoy optimizing because they have fun that way. High level optimization is not just a requirement for Savage either. Sometimes, you high end optimization may be what saves a group from a DPS check in an Extreme primal or any other type of DPS check in this game in order to make up for the lack of damage other players may be outputting. Some people just enjoy having higher numbers or having friendly rivalries with other players in their FC about who can push out the most DPS. I hate going to a PC player every time I want to check my numbers because it feels like I'm bothering them. I enjoy seeing my numbers and trying to find ways to constantly improve, and having access to a parser wouldn't lead me to rely on other people for this.

The thing is that there is no "on/ off button", and that's a concept that many players don't seem to take into account. Many players like to play at their best at all times because they want to help the group out to the best of their abilities. Min-maxing may seem like a chore at first, but like with all good habits, IF that is something that you would like to do, and you keep at it, it becomes second nature and requires nowhere near the effort that it did when you first started. I don't queue up for Expert Roulette and play at the minimum level required to complete the dungeon, and then queue up for AS and magically perform better. Good habits are built over time, and many players enjoy performing their best not because content requires them too, but they simply have the most fun doing so.

You do know that there is no end-all-be-all rotation, correct? Many rotations are situational at best and they are completely dependent on how much HP the enemy you are attacking has. Simply regurgitating information because "someone who knows better told me to" does not give you a firm grasp of your job in any way, shape, or form. Guides are amazing to read and they can help you understand your job much better, but if you had the option to prove that what you are reading in a guide was correct, why would you not take it?

By the way, how do you suppose that the people who made guides about your job arrived at their conclusions, with numbers to back them up?

You know when I see you character is galaka and your main is blm this is more than enough for me to know that is your dps is low .
too much talking with you is wasting for time . With out parse you can't make your rotation ppl on YouTube have parse and they are making rotation any time they want , some time SE increaseing potency for some skills or change some skills if you still doing what are you watched before that's mean you're losing dps because your doing what are ppl doing before new update if you have parse you can make your rotation any time and what are you comfortable with . Can you tell me why you don't make you rotation? You said go dps board and ppl talking this answers for "fail ppl" .

I fully support parsers for console users. Being able to assess my dps on the fly and know my numbers without having to average dot tick calculations and do ridiculous math problems would be nice.
