It isn't "just a number". You are basically devaluating all the effort these players put into the game. Also he said that he needs to be 1st, so it is clearly his goal. But, this is a coop game, not a competition, that's why there are no leaderboards. You mention this goal of his along side things that are actually supported in the game, yet his goal is entirely of his own making, and nothing supported by the game. As for this point, his parsed dps is just a number, and a rank in an unofficial ranking table driven by a parsed dps score generated by a third party tool that is technically prohibited by the terms and conditions of service. It just seems a very arbitrary goal to have and actually makes a point many have posted about people having more than a little interest in their numbers, and those who've pointed out that parsing will bring an air of competition to something that is about cooperation
