So... a Warrior does the highest DPS is that it? Considering Fell Cleave can reach 10k with crit and no other class can do that in 1 single hit.eh not for me. I have all my battle info turned off because the nyumber stuff got annoying and the battle log spam got annoying. Also erm......
How hard is it to read.
play A did skill 1 for 200 dmg
player b did skill 1 crit for210
I was more pointing that out to players who want parser to make a judgment call on who they feel is putting out low dps. If you can see what the other players are doing and read each dmg each skill they use. You pretty much exactly tell who is and isn't low.
Also idk how ppl find "i parse 300 dps" easy to follow, i read that and think "what the heck did they just say" I rather read the battle log then read that...
And by that chain of thought, SMNs obviously are the worst DPS classes ever.
THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The problem with ppl that are against parsers is that they don't even know what they talking about.

Yeah exactly just like all those who are for them are all harassers. Please don't generalize and paint everyone with one brush. There is very little new added to this discussion on a daily basis that hasn't been said before in this thread or the numerous ones like it. People see what they want to see it appears.
While this is true, a large number of the arguments against parser implementation in these threads are full of either misunderstandings about MMO communities, SE's position on their usage or the posters against them repeatedly show that they have little to no knowledge of how they actually work. In quite a few cases their posts provide nothing more than emotionally charged hyperbole based on zero facts whatsoever and often in quite a hostile manner.Yeah exactly just like all those who are for them are all harassers. So while you are correct that it would be wrong to paint many of the posters with the same brush, it would make the argument against putting them into the game much stronger if more players actually knew what they were talking about.
This isn't to say that every pro-parsing argument has been a shining beacon of understanding either but some of these responses are just like.. out of nowhere lol.

What this topic always comes down to, is people who want parsers say they want a tool to use in game, people who don't use parsers don't want to be called out for doing shoddy DPS.
The age old 'People would be mean and kick me' argument is absolutely invalid as long as you're not seriously under performing. People don't usually kick a bad tank, only one that seriously stops the dungeon/raid from being completed. Same concept applies to a bad DPS. In other words, don't play an MMO then proceed to screw up things for 3-7 other people because you are too lazy to learn your own class. If you want to roleplay a bard that only spams heavyshot then fine good for you, but subjecting other players to that is downright unfair.

You see that is another misconception about why many are against them. Simple to call people out by saying they are afraid and want to hide their DPS. It's just like those who want to parse want to use the numbers to harass and kick others from duties.

Yes there are misunderstandings on both sides. People see what they want to see as well and don't underestimate the degree of harassment that may result with the implementation of officially approved group parsers. It doesn't take a lot of people harassing others with the numbers to turn off people to the game. There are lots of people who are opposed to group parsers and they feel strongly about it just as those who think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread feel the way that they do. It's always fun to read how difficult content is without them while at the same time reading about how Face Roll Final Fantasy is with respect to it's duties.
I've made my view known a number of times and I'm not going to make a career posting in this thread or ones similar to it to say the same thing over and over again each day.

How often are mediocre healers harassed or kicked as long as content is getting cleared?
That's how often mediocre DPS would get harassed or kicked as long as content is getting cleared.
And while nobody ever deserves to be harassed, if your lack of performance is preventing a clear, and you are unable (or unwilling) to get better, you DO deserve a kick. No matter which role you play.
