what I mean is that by asking for more solo content, you're asking for content that dilutes the entire purpose of the MMORPG: to play with others.

for you it means playing with others, for others it means to dominate you and have a bigger e-pen
for both groups its fun and the reason to play

FFXI in its present state isn't, yes. But FFXI 75 era was one of the best MMO's around.

I grew up in DAoC and came of age in vanilla WoW. I thought those were as good as it got - the industry prefers you, though. There's more of your lot than mine, so it's only natural.

I guess I'm trying to say good is relative. I guess I'm trying to say FFXIV is adequate, and that further investment of resources to develop solo content can only happen at the cost of resources being taken from the development of compelling group oriented content. So when I say you're poisoning the waters, really, what I mean is that by asking for more solo content, you're asking for content that dilutes the entire purpose of the MMORPG: to play with others.
