Ohs.
I'm from a really, really, really small town so chickens here means all the female ones and roosters for male. See a lot of signs in the summer with "roosters, chickens, and eggs for sale". I've only heard hen used in class.
Thats why I went with the "technically" preface. Yeah, they run around in the road in these parts, except can't run em down, some thing about "free range" chickens means they are protected. Free fertilizer for your lawn though, on the bright side.
They're hidden wherever Femroes/Catboys used to be in 1.0, and where Roe kids still are.
The Ugly Duckling is from Never Reap, it's not a chicken but a duck though it lives at the edge of Eorzea so maybe little sized birds, in particular chickens, are not native from here.
you'd be surprised the number of people living in first world countries that have never seen a live chicken in person before.
Just like how there are many people that have never seen an ocean or sea.
The one place only the devs can find them, foiled again!
That does explain where all those duck bones came from at least and gives me new leads! I need to find this Frandelont Raimdelle or the Raimdelle Codex they will surely have the answers I seek. The Ugly Duckling is from Never Reap, it's not a chicken but a duck though it lives at the edge of Eorzea so maybe little sized birds, in particular chickens, are not native from here.

It just seems weird to see no evidence of them in places where you would usually see evidence of them, Red Rooster Stead has "Sheep", Dodos and Chocobos but no sign of a chicken coop even though its named after a rooster though I guess that might also be a term for a male chocobo?

Hydaelyn chicken breasts are prepared locally by expert Ishgardian chocobo farmers. The chocobo's are fed 100% fresh Gysahl Greens with no added MSG or preservatives to ensure you are eating healthy. Keep an eye out for our new fast-food FC chain "KwehFC" and dine at an Eatery near you!

I have uncovered evidence that suggests that there should be chickens or at least roosters at red rooster stead!
Coordinates: Lower La Noscea (31,20)
Ahctkoen: Have you heard the tale behind the name of this quaint little place? It all started with the birth of a rooster, feathers as red as wine. Would that the story ended there...
Ahctkoen: See, the farmers laid wagers on this bird being stronger than the others, but the contest grew ugly. Blades were drawn, and both roosters and onlookers were splattered with scarlet shades of blood. Not so quaint now, eh?
It seems I might have been correct about there being some shady underground illegal activity involving the chickens after all, but more information is still needed to come to any real conclusions.
I thought this was common knowledge that all "Fried chicken" in FFXIV was in fact Fried Chocobo?Hydaelyn chicken breasts are prepared locally by expert Ishgardian chocobo farmers. Though... I did happen to see a KwehFC pop up in one of the housing wards the other day >_> perhaps I should investigate and get some lunch while I'm at it. <_<
In an attempt to solve the worlds food issues, the mages of the allagan empire came up with the ability to create everlasting eggs out of ordinary house items.
When the empire crumbled the eggs remained behind.
And the "free roaming chickens" tool tip is just a disguise since talking about the allagan empire is considered blasphemy
My grandmother, when she was alive, never saw the ocean. Quite frankly, she didn't even know where she lived on the map, or the state that I (her grandson) lived in. I remember the time she told me that the reason my laptop was so heavy was because of all the music I had on it...
