The chicken quest(ion)

I have recently stumbled upon a mystery! and that mystery is are there chickens in Eorzea!? for I don't recall having seen one!

All I have seen is evidence of chickens in the form of Eggs and Breasts, but! These are only attainable from NPCs, so it is a very real possibility that there is in fact no such Gallus gallus domesticus present in all of Eorzea and that we are in fact being fooled by the NPCs! -dramatic sound effect-

I have conducted hours and hours (5 minute chocobo rides to farms that I can easily see on the map) of research into this subject and have come up with no leads so I now ask for help in uncovering the truth. I would turn to Hildibrand in my time of need but am unable to locate him as well, perhaps there is a connection!

Any information to the whereabouts of live chicken specimens located in Eorzea would be greatly appreciated.

It also doesn't explain where the limitless amounts of eggs and breasts are coming from.

The only clue we have is what it says on the Enkidu minion:

Legend has that Gilgamesh first found Enkidu while searching for a meal. Without the means to make a fire, he attempted to eat the fowl raw, only to find himself the victim of a furious counterattack. Impressed by the bird's tenacity, he promptly made her his pet.

Perhaps he tamed it on another land mass that is not Eorzea before travelling here, we would need to question Gilgamesh.

Even if that wasn't the case and he tamed it here it still seems fishy to not have a visible supply of chickens on Eorzea, there must be more to this maybe a underground black market.

But that's a baby chocobo not a chicken.... unless my god!

This is a very good point one that I perhaps overlooked to soon.

I have returned with some new evidence that is old evidence but re-examined and that is this egg.

Thanks to Gilgamesh Trial 2.0 I thought Enkidu was male, until this thread I reminded me that chickens are female. QwQ

Well technically hens are female, roosters are males, but they are all chickens.
