Whats even the point of this diskussion? "Do what you want" constellation? Starring non wanderers minute brd, a smn without egi, a full heal sch without fairy and a flashing only pld, just to get their unique playstyle and roles?

Get your own group then, your argument is invalid.

There's no downside to lustrate..I can't believe that was even brought up. The ONLY thing I can think of is managing aetherflow stacks.

oGCD, instant, no mana, bypasses healing debuffs, and you get a potential of 6. (Including dissipation). Jesus. What's not to like about it?

It depends on the pull and your party members, really. If the group is doing one pull at a time, Eos CAN solo heal an expert dungeon. If your tank and DPS are using cooldowns effectively, even big pulls become trivial with Eos. I once had the tree + two bees pulled into the group of Vanu and the totems; a Whispering Dawn under Fey Illumination, Convalescence, Mantra and Rouse is nothing to scoff at. Of course, in DF, you can get anything from really good members to just horrible, horrible people.

So really, it depends on the group. I've had some terrible, TERRIBLE tanks that I could barely go into Cleric Stance for fear of my paper-thin tank tearing, but on the other hand, I've also had groups where all I do as a WHM or AST is Divine Seal/Synastry -> HoTs -> burst out the Holies and Gravities.

Well, technically Lustrate is not effected by Fey Illumination or Dissipation's healing buffs since it's treated as an ability and not a spell (which is why it ignores debuffs that reduce healing effects from spells). Indomitability is the same way, and neither move is effected by Mantra or Convalescence, either. Technically those are downsides, though both moves are still fantastic and save raids. Seeing them crit now is also a lot of fun.

If anyone finds lustrate to feel weak, all I can say is keep gearing up.

What the Op say is true, but sch have to check every tank skill before going to dps.
In random dgn sch have to check if the tank is equipped with force accesories and if he is good at migitation.
I just up my sch i always dps a little, but yeah it's depending of the tank gear and migitation.
I loose a DRK one times in normal leleving dungeon because he get hitting so Hard like and not usual to me.
i was doing A1 normal yesterday, my sch is just leveled. i go as dps in cleric, but without see the group skill, i got completely out of mana, because we got all times stacked, the dps was a mess with the add. i got a wipe, and decided to only heal to not wipe the second.
Dps is not all the times a gain of time. Doing with random people can be a loose of time.
cause if you wipe once, you loose the time your tryed to win if not more.
With your FC in Savage it's not the same you know if there is not enough dps heal and tanks have to make up the loose.

Well, judging by the responses I got here, I'll go ahead and assume I just got horrible tanks and that was the main problem^^°
My sample size on SCH is a lot smaller than on my main, AST, or even on WHM. I tend to forget that I had paper-thin tanks on my other healers too where dpsing was pretty much out of the question.

Some blame can be put on equipment playing a factor now that it is scaled by potency and no longer a flat 25% heal. It numbers alone has nothing to do with tank or you, not really.

In 3.0, <lv58 Tanks were having hard time dealing with all the mobs and getting wrecked, which left barely time to go into Cleric Stance to put a DoT or two.
I started DPSing as Scholar when my DF Tank (JP) told me it was fine specifically to not heal until down to 50% HP or so.

Up til then I've been keeping tanks topped up >60% because I had random tanks who complained about healers being crappy when their HP comes anywhere near 50%.
Also EN players I know complaining about healers letting HP drop frequently.

So I feel that its more of a default attitude to not DPS to avoid criticism from touchy tanks about their HP.
