I cant understand how heals dont feel utterly useless, if they only heal

sometimes the tank has full HP and they just do nothing for like 30 sec, use 1 heal and afk for another 30 sec

I would feel like trash, lol

Well I don't feel like trash when nothing is going on. Healing has pauses like that followed by intense moments where quick and sound judgment is necessary and if executed correctly can be very rewarding. If a healer misses a step, game over.
