Choosing a world

Just coming back from a 2 year hiatus and looking to start fresh on a new world. Not sure of the current state of the worlds (population, economies, FCs, etc..) but was hoping I could get some advice on some nice worlds to start on.

I recommend Balmung, generally. It is a big world, but this means that anything you care to do, you can find people do it with. Wanna raid? It's got plenty of raiders. You'd rather RP? Tons of those players around too. Wanna make lots of gil? The markets are moving and there's crafter FCs and such to help you along. FATEs, hunts, treasure maps--plenty of people to do it all with.

Oh, and there's tons of players that love newbies and will help you get reacquainted with things, clear quests/trials/etc if you need help, and so on.

Downside is it's pretty hard to get into. Like you need to try at 4am on a weekday that's not Friday hard (or wait for a maintenance). But once you're in, you're in.

Hey Roben \o What Region are you in? In about 2 weeks time the EU Data Centres will be opening so the Chaos Data Centre and all worlds in it will be moving to a better place for EU players so if you live inside the EU Area I recommend the Chaos Data and any worlds in it. If you're more in the NA area then NA servers would be better suited to you.

If you wish to join the world I'm in it's Phoenix, EU, Chaos Data Centre. But choice is up to and what your looking for.

I tried getting onto Balmung for a few days now because i've heard it mentioned in passing, but still havent been able to get in. Super busy there i'm guessing.

Also thanks for the offer Martin. I'm currently in NA so if they are moving EU to...well EU, I'll probably run into connectivity issues.

Yes a lot of the populated servers you'll have difficulty getting into only because they're heavily congested.
My vote is for Hyperion though.
