This is my opinion on the matter, now my thoughts



The idea seems interesting, if perverted. SE had incorporated other silly outfits into the lore (though it helps that most of them are seasonal events, or Veteran Rewards). But the thing is it is set in an analogue of the Middle/Dark Ages (the later eras at least) and the Japan analogue seem to be inspired by the Edo or Meiji era, not the Heisei era, and the role the player have are adventurers, not highschool students, especially if they "graduated" be leveling SCH to 50

There are many crossovers I want, there are also many concepts I want to see, but I know that most of them are likely to be limited to the End of Days for Eorzea and the fanfic realm (maybe the Hilderbrand storyline, but that seems to be over for now). A Show by Rock, Vocaloid, Kantai Collection, Touhou, Marvel, DC(UO), My Little Pony, Transformers or Steven Universe crossover would raise eyebrows at best and would actually be the straw that finnaly breaks the camel's back at worse, event the DQ crossover was stretching things a little. Likewise incorporating concepts not native to medieval times that aren't standard fantasy, Science Fiction or Final Fantasy if done poorly, will actually have players threaten to unsub (again).

It's not impossible for SE to make fetish outfits be able to fit with the lore, but whether or not they do it well or not (and even if they want to and if Yoshida will let them) is another question. The fact is this is a Fantasy RPG with some sci-fi touches, not a dating sim or an anime for people to live vicariously though. At best those wanting school suits can hope that SE implements the concept well of adds the Class-0 or SeeD uniforms, neither option is currently likely

Getting the sense the OP wouldn't be getting nearly as much flack if they worded their post better. "Japanese school uniforms" would have been a much better choice of words than mentioning anime in any way.

Is because the post would be had been made more ambiguous, as mentioned before, the stereotypical serafuku is being phased out IRL (along with the related competition onepiece swimsuit). But yeah Anime (or perhaps just the Moe Highschool style) does seem to be a point of contention lately and I'm sure school uniforms would had been different in the Meiji or Edo era than the Heisei era, but I'm certain some would still see the intent of the thread anyway.

The difference being in anime, the clothes are extraordinarily tight and the skirts are shorter than a long pair of briefs. Normal Japanese school clothes wouldn't fit in any better though, and I'd still see a lot of opposition to the idea. It's no different from asking for a uniform from anywhere else in the world to be implemented (see below image), other than some people having a "thing" for Japanese school clothing.

During the Meiji era is when public schools started adopting the sailor suit uniforms for students, though... however it was in the Taisho era where it became really popular
in the Edo period they wore more traditional kimono.

(you would not believe how hard it is to find this information..it's all Meiji westernization MANCHUKUO WWII in English history books..ugh)

yes sailor-fuku are actually worn to school? all the time? They are falling out of favor for a more blazer/skirt combo nowadays though.

Sailor type are not that common, there are schools that have sailors type, but in my generation shirt with skirt and blazer are more favourable

In all seriousness, there is already a lot of slutty outfits in this game (see : female highlander hempen set, gold saucer bunny set, all the different bikinis, coliseum set, things like that) so adding one more wouldn't really hurt, but seriously. School girls. What kind of people are actually asking for that ? I'm kinda afraid. Everytime I see an anime school girl I see a 12 yo girl with boobs that even a 20 yo would envy. I don't know what kind of fantasy it fulfills, but seems like pedobear's seal of approval is hanging there.
