    90ks, Lag and Freezes

Forgive me Devs, or whomever deals with all these things but:

This has gone on long enough, Square Enix! I have came on this Forum complaining for months now. And nothing has changed. I am seriously freaking fed up with the incompetence of how things are being handled. Massive amounts of 90ks has been going on since over the Weekend. Lag spikes happens and I cannot heal or even play this stupid game because of that. Also, what the HELL is up with the Freezing in between Teleports? All of these problems persist, and what is being done about it? Nothing. If this continues, I will not be paying for a game that is not working properly.

In most cases such problems are not server side, nor related to the game client...but tied into external things. There could be localised system issues (malware, configuration, hardware related) or network related problems (local or abroad).

As pointed out in another thread you were posting about this in, the internet is a complex network of networks. There are multiple levels where problems may appear--your network, Time Warner's network, whoever's network they peer with to get into Canada, the NSA metadata waypoint in Chicago along the way, Sony's network if on a console because of their forced authentication schemes (which can also be prone to third party peering issues with those background sessions or Sony's ISP), Ormuco's network (SE's ISP), or within SE's network.

Granted there are times where their is a problem within SE's network causing issues in mass numbers across the board and that gets announced. But in the majority of cases it has been demonstrated there are issues before it even hit SE's end. Many people manage to mitigate the routing issues with a VPN service...while others have worked with their ISP to clean things up. This was done without SE doing a thing...because the problem was outside of SE's sphere of influence or responsibility.

As mentioned also in that other thread there had been reports of issues along some key routing corridors with specific ISP's that provide peering/transit service across specific regions of North America...those problems may still persist. If you are still on TWC and are still in he Ohio area, that may very well be the case (that area seems to have it's own unique issues..especially TWC). Have you checked into that yet? Have you used the links provided in that other thread to check the statuses in your area or the regions you pass through? Have any traces been run to verify no issues within your routes? Have you verified there is no malware or other factors specific to your system/network interfering (system/router security, port forwarding or UPnP active when not needed)?

The point is....it isn't always something SE can address. In fact, in most cases it is third or even fourth parties at fault.
