    A simple solution here is to have the extreme dungeons give best ilvl gear (think of them as the new "extreme" content) or have the dungeons drop gear equal in value to current best tome gear (ala esoteric) but have them be pink and thus, meld-able. That would actually alleviate quite a few issues with the economy and current gear progression.

    I want relevant/even slightly challenging dungeon content more than anything in this game. People at the live event cheered when they saw Pharos hard mode, but there's no way it'll be anything but faceroll content. Extreme primal difficulty (and maybe some that go as high as like entry level coil difficulty) would be perfect if the rewards were there. Just don't put them in Roulette.

    Its funny I see people saying they want hard content, dungeons and such but then when it comes down to it they always end up saying "I run X cus its quicker/easier"

    If there is an easier option for the same reward, people will do the easier option. Make the more challenging versions drop better/unique stuff and people will do the challenging ones.

    We had a *challenging* 4 man dungeon before called Pharos Sirius and that got nerfed cause of player complaints saying it was too difficult.

    We had a *challenging* 8 man dungeon in the form of Steps of Faith and that was nerfed considerably due to players claiming it was too hard. I dont get the feeling many people in this thread remember original Steps of Faith. You had to utilize the simple mechanics of the fight and still meet a semi tough DPS check. Missing a Dragonkiller could prove fatal but again that was too difficult for the masses.

    CT was supposed to be much more difficult but was nerfed before release due to devs beliving it was too hard to organize.

    Remember when they made Pharos Sirius and it was actually hard? Remember when Steps of Faith was released and people could not coordinate to save their lives and the boss had a bit more health? Remember when the demon wall had more hp and had 2 adds to deal with?

    As much as i like the idea of an extreme mode dungeon, i would suspect that it would be absolute hell if it was in DF.

    But i want challenging 4 man content myself, no matter how unlikely it is to be implimented.

    You'll probably never see any type of real challenging content outside of maybe raids or extreme primals. The game is catered to the casual crowd or people who honestly don't want to make any type of real effort. Sadly enough it isn't just FFXIV, MMOs in general nowadayslack any type of uniqueness and don't require much skill, and the content that does, people just want it nerfed and handed to them on a silver platter.

    I forgot all about Pharos Sirius. That was a bit tough at some point wasn't it ?
    While Steps of Faith Blocked the Expansion, Pharos didn't block anything (As far as I know) and still needed to be gimped for some people...SE is Probably laughing at this thread. Why Make content hard only to have to go back and break it down to faceroll level. Thats extra work...Extreme dungeons probably wont happen.
