What future weapons will tanks have?

C'mon guys, we need a scythe tank!

A scythe is actually a gardening tool, and I know in FFXI DRK were using scythes, but that's the only place in the whole FF series and it's ridiculous.

But hey, they could turn botanist into a battle job.

Couple of potential weapons, paired with their corresponding job, that I think could be cool.

Mystic Knight - Dual Sword Staff



Have Mystic Knight have an exotic flair to them (classic version wore a turban) maybe originating from Ala Mhigo or Thavnair and sort of a dervish with elemental powers (since enspell was Mystic Knight's classic schtick) style/theme to them. (Ex: Defensive abilities linked to earth, dps linked to fire , maybe utility stuff linked to air).

Blue Mage - Mystic Shackles

These mystic shackles would be large metal wristbands etched with runes and mystic symbols that allow/assist the BLU in controlling and channeling the spirits of different monsters that have been defeated and absorbed. To avoid clipping as much as possible, when active they orbit around the wrists wearing them, so there is some space between them and any gloves/armor that might be worn.

This weapon idea would correspond with the idea of BLU being a sect of people devoted to protecting people from monsters by in a way becoming one themselves by employing secret mystic arts to absorb the spirits/essence of defeated monsters which they can then channel in battle. Sort of a wandering, tough as nails professional monster hunter.
