I'd switch from Mael if Flames and Adders didn't have such ugly hunt gear. I'll just grind out my last 30 wins somehow. +sigh

Hi. You do not lose your progress towards the commanders coat when you switch GCs. However the ADS mount is another story.

I'm pretty sure they explicitly set up the Field Commander set achievement to be this way because of the tremendous backlash that they got from the ADS mount.
There were a lot, and I mean a TON, of people who lost their progress on the ADS mount achievement when it first came out because the wording was ambiguous and they thought wins across all 3 GC's would count. People were constantly complaining and FFXIV corner of the internet practically exploded with angry players... I think SE wanted to avoid that with the Field Commander set.

I switched to Maelstrom a week ago and my achievement points for the commander coat stayed. 70 wins, and stayed that way when I switched from Flames.
I hope that maybe someone saw then end of grand company teams.
