A newcomer to PVP Question

I have loved participating in the PvP options provided in other MMOs I play, and so I was excited to get into both solo and Front-line PvP here.

However, every time I've gone to que up (for either) I just end up sitting on my thumbs, so to speak, for hours.

I was wondering if Faerie is just not very active in PvP, or if PvP in general is only done by a few, who have done it forever etc. I don't want to change worlds, and I'm very attached to my FC, but if other worlds are more active with PvP I may make a secondary character on one of them.

Any help, and or, input into this topic would be much appriciated

Do you play at peaktimes? I usually get an avg of like 20min wait in evenings on Cerby (past 20 CEST/GMT+2). Yours is NA server and I am not common with timezones and stuff but this might be it... or you are in the most overloaded GC and get those waittimes due to that :/
Also Wolves Den is pretty dead from what I heard only works for premades.

Hmmm Interesting... Okay so stick to Front-line, and find out what the peaktimes are for my server, and cue up then! I was trying to cue in the evenings since that's always the time you can't walk without running through 10 people in Hawkers Alley, but I feel more research is needed.

Hi there, veteran PvPer here!

Faerie is actually one of the best and most active PvP servers on the Aether datacenter, but Wolves Den is dead and will likely continue to be until ranked competitive mode(s) are released in patch 3.1/3.2. Seal Rock is by far the most active PvP mode right now, but the two major PvP communities on the server are aligned with the Order of the Twin Adder and Immortal Flames respectively, and it looks like you're part of the Maelstrom, which has virtually no PvP presence on Faerie.

The latest Frontlines standings for the month of September corroborate this as well: only 3 out of the top 100 PvPers on the server (based on win %) were Maelstrom players.

If you'd like to switch to one of the other two GCs for Frontline/PvP purposes (which I'd strongly recommend unless you want to transfer), here's a quick rundown of what you can expect.

Faerie Twin Adders
- have the largest single-GC PvP linkshell in the entire game
- Long-established group that has a strong core group and is filled with friendly PvPers
- Fastest queue times for Seal Rock (normally 2-3m, 10m max during primetime)
- are home to many strong premades on the server, as well as the datacenter
- The main downside is that Adders tend to be the weakest of the three GCs and have the lowest win rate across the datacenter unless premades are running.

Faerie Immortal Flames
- have a linkshell that is newer, a bit smaller and less established than the Twin Adders, but still has a lot of skilled and friendly PvPers.
- The Flames are generally the strongest overall GC on the datacenter, but...
- have by far the worst queue times for Seal Rock as a result (10-15m minimum, often upwards of 30m per match)
- Not as many premades, but the quality of solo-queuing players tends to be much better.

I've been PvPing since it first launched in FFXIV and haven't come across a Maelstrom community on Faerie - if there is one, it's almost non-existent.
