Why do gathering abilities like Fingerprints of the Gods, never seem to proc? I mined for about 2 hours and never had an ability proc. How are we supposed to meld materia if no catalyst are available.

You can't gather catalyst's in every area for every gathering class. Check the Patch Notes for detailed information where you can gather which catalysator with which class.

Miner : White, Yellow, Light Blue

Botanist: Green, Dark Blue, Orange

Fisher: Red, Purple, Black
