Can't say I agree I prefer to see some items harder to get than others, but that's just me.

RNG ≠ difficulty
Seriously, when will people understand this. RNG is, at most, artificial difficulty. There's nothing hard about something that's random.
On topic: As someone who has also spent countless hours in Brayflox for the twelvesdamned Battlemage set (as well as some other glamours), I like this idea very much.

They are not hard to obtain. What aspect of "RNG ≠ difficulty" do you not understand?
There is literally no point in keeping dungeon drops - most of which are untradeable - scarce. Especially not if we're talking glamour.Time and effort are required and the random aspect keeps them more scarce than if not.

If the drop rate percentage on an item is 10% then adding this system wouldn't change that. Mathematically speaking it would bring no more items of it's kind into the game world that the current system would. It should have zero effect on the game economy in general. Even if it did, we are talking 4 man dungeon items in general... these aren't even sought after highly.
That being said, it would have to be implemented for 4 mans and old raids only.
Additionally, why the heck cant we sell all 4 man dungeon items....
edit: Upon further thought it would lower the percentage of drop, possibly by 1-2%. I agree that its not QoL though.

Also, I ran The Aery 30 or 40 times trying to get the Orthodox Coat of Fending. I was almost 59 by the time it dropped, and it wasn't the first time I've had awful luck like that. I would have paid in a heartbeat for the token.

I think idea is awesome and adds some fun lore to the game, I can't tell you how much i had issues with in rng. On my old character on my old account, i was farming the valerien set as gear/glam for my character. It took 400 runs (yes i counted, i got bored) to get the hat, body, legs, feet. The gloves dropped once and was out "needed" by another caster. (this was after 300 runs, and i cried)
Heck I was jumping for joy earlier today when i ran haukke for the first time on my CNJ (i was 28), and i got four loot drops, aetheral wand ring wrist and a boss shield drop. That never happens, and gear not too easy to get now a days as a fresh character, 1) lack of funds because of not having acess to alot of content. 2) mb is scared on my server for low level items.
I use the gear as upgrades and plan on trading in the pink/green stuff for seals. And i sb crafted gear for materia to sell (which is low balled atm cuz my gear makes grade 1)

@ jynx gear value is not based on the rarerity, but how much the player values the gear. There is no such thing as rare items in games because they are infinite resorce, its just the luck of the player getting the item. And with the suggestion you still earn the gear, it either drops or you trade in the card after x amount of runs. The could make itwhere you can only carry one voucher at a time.
So you have to pick and choose your gear, and this would be a decent gil sink which we need more of cuz items are too much inflated from rmt botting putting more gil into the system then it leaves.

If you're running a mid-level dungeon 10 times rather than moving on to the next one after 2-4 times, you're doing it wrong.
Got about four levels in Sohm Al alone just trying to get that Woad Skyhunter set.
All that overleveling was good because I didn't have to touch a single sidequest till about... 59 I think is where I got story level-blocked.
