Would you play FFXIV if it had action combat?

Hmm, yeah that's probably why they have it, for accessibility reasons. And I can understand that. I know people with disabilities do play this game. I think it's also the reason why tanking and healing is so easy. Although, I kind of wish they would do something to add more engagement to those roles even if they keep the current GCD system.

Disabilities are one factor, but it also widens the audience to those with lower internet requirements and just a wide range of skill levels in general.

I know making games easier rubs certain people wrong (less satisfaction in "winning" if it's not as big of a challenge), but those players have EX and Savage level content tailored just for them, with plenty of rewards attached.

Besides, there are plenty of high action MMOs out there, and they aren't exactly pulling players away en masse. FFXIV has a good thing going here.
