So, your response to people who want more choices for their race is 'go play a midlander?'
Absolutely brilliant, why didn't I think of that?

We actually got a Dev post on this and they flat out said they weren't going to change this. Something about Au Ra would have to many options in relation to other races.1.) Horns and Faces: Horns and faces should not be tied in together. They should both be separate categories. I've run into quite a few people both in my FC and outside of it, that like a certain face but hate the horns attached to said face. Making them separate and each in their own category would solve this which would aide in more playing the race or even Fantasia potion purchases.
This would be cool, but I doubt they will do anything about this either. Just like I said in the last sentence, it would give Au Ra to many options, so I don't think they will ever do something like this.2.) Body Scales: Add a feature in the features tab portion to toggle the body scales on and off. You could do it as a simple toggle for all of them or toggles for arms, chest and legs or as NorthernLadMSP said to put it on a slider 0 being none with only tail and horns and 6 being full coverage.

That is very disappointing. I may buy a Fantasia and simply go back to Miqo'te, I do like the Male height for Au Ra though...
Current Jobs:
Warrior Lv. 60
Dragoon Lv. 60
Paladin Lv. 55
Dark Knight Lv. 55
Monk Lv. 25

The in-game horns headgear looks just plain awful. While you guys may think that a scaled race should always have scales, which is your completely valid opinion, others just simply don't feel the same. Some want none while some want to be covered in it which is why the slider would be useful. The only scales I personally don't mind are the ones on the face. The body scales, as I stated above, can be problematic for some wanting to use some glamours etc it would also serve to solve this. I've never heard the Mi'qote argument, but a toggle for that wouldn't be hard. I personally love the kitty race as is, but others may not. Everyone has different tastes.
It's been said the issue with this is an increase in character data. Here's hoping they find a solution though.Just really two things that I personally would tweak about their creation process.
1.) Horns and Faces: Horns and faces should not be tied in together. They should both be separate categories. I've run into quite a few people both in my FC and outside of it, that like a certain face but hate the horns attached to said face. Making them separate and each in their own category would solve this which would aide in more playing the race or even Fantasia potion purchases.

If they don't make some kind of compromise with the gamers on this, I can only see the race declining unless the person is fine with the default look. The Au Ra was supposed to be the most customizable and I personally feel like it's lacking in that department. They stuck with the same generic setup as all the other races, without much thought put into the features of such a unique race. My glamours are not exactly, scale friendly and to be stuck to glamours that cover the whole body is very limiting for someone like me. I would prefer to be able to wear all the gear without the scales being much of an issue, but I feel like they are hiding behind the character data issue, without looking for a way to appease their customers even with such a simple thing.
