I have been reporting people who were obviously botting through hours, days, and weeks of fating in northern thanalan since the release of heavensward. Nothing has every been done about this, because it persists. I have tried to contact GM's about it as well, and they don't even reply to me, ever. I shout about it from time to time in northern thanalan and almost always get put down and blacklisted. I have been playing this game since day 1, and I have never botted...

So, I really want to know... I really *need* to know...

Is botting even against the rules? I thought it was cheating? Apparently it's not, but I just thought that I'd ask here before I stopped wasting my time daily, weekly, and monthly on leveling up jobs whenever I could get a free ride instead. (Even though I wouldn't, but yeah, hopefully this catches *someones* attention. Or maybe I'll get banned? This should be interesting.)

I tried a little experiment in N Than one day by starting a PF fate group and announcing it. It took about 20 seconds to fill. I have party names display as hot pink and all 7 were right there at Cerulean. So anyway I left the party and started new ones 8 more times and each time ended up with different members each time within the space of around 30 minutes. All in all most members were responding to party chat comments so I'm not so sure the majority of that zone's zerg actually are bots tbh.

I haven't seen any N. Than FATE bots.

But if you mean the ones farming coblyns at the checkpoint north of Bluefog, short of the mining points... yeah, I've reported them too to no effect. :|

Forgive the stupid question but what does this signify? If they were joining your pt, wouldn't they be in Cerulean?

He means they were at the ceruluean aetheryte. He mentioned hot pink because it stands out so presumably he remembers the names a bit better.

Oh, yeah. I get what you're saying. For some reason I thought the OP meant that they were joining the fate parties and just following the other members. I see them everywhere too, usually in groups of five. In the cities, out in random maps, and all that.

In other threads people state that they have reported bots as well as many other people for something like six months, and that the bots are still there farming. I suggest looking up one of these threads to find some of the answers you are looking for. I can promise you will not be happy about it though.

What's worse, imo, is when you'll fill up your BL. You'll look at it so you can decide which to delete, thinking surely these GS spammers MUST be deleted by now, and see that not one has been. It's like really?

It has to be legal. I mean, on my server, every cities market place has a bot advertising their gold selling services in /s. It's like they have absolutely no fear at all. They advertise day and night in general chat. SE doesn't do anything to them. It's nice to see how SE truly thinking about its customers...

Remember, RMTers are being payed IRL to do this for what ever underhanded company they work for. They get banned, they buy a new product key, make new bots, and keep going.

They can't possibly stop them. It is literally not possible for SE to stop them because it would need national laws to be made IRL to out law them. And that'll likly never happen as well.
