    Combat changes from the Patch

I came back to the game recently. My highest is an r22 pug. Thus far, this new patch has completely nerfed low level characters to the point that it's not even enjoyable to attempt soloing. I tried to do a 1 star r10 leve at r8 and couldn't even kill a single mob before getting destroyed. I tried soloing a level 11 marmot. It 3-shotted me. My level 8 LNC has only 180 hp. That is absolutely ridiculous. My level 22 pug has only 490. I could BARELY solo a 1 star r20 leve at r22. I died twice, and it took me 18 minutes to complete. I also recieved LESS xp per mob than I did pre-patch. So it took me 3-4 times longer for LESS rewards.

Please, correct the low level combat. Increase HP at low levels, increase damage at low levels, something. If it stays like this, I will quit for good. That's a promise.

Yep, low level play has been completely ruined with 1.19. As a 23 Conjurer I have to fight Lv19 and lower monsters for me to even do any kind of damage (i.e. more than failing every other cast and hitting for 20s), and I get almost no experience if I fight things that low.

High level characters don't seem too bad (the HP boosts in particular make it ok), but low level is just stupid now. I completely agree that any fun to be had at lower levels got removed with 1.19, it's just an irritating chore now.

They want you to party and no one takes the hint. Literally I've seen shout groups from level 11 on, shout groups for level 23-30 something especially became more common. If you just refuse to party when there are parties out there, that is blatantly counterproductive. If you can't get into parties, understandable. Leveling up in this game will probably not be a solo affair now, if you don't like that you should double check if you want to play a single player game or an mmo. Soloing in this game is still easier than dark souls I must say, so single player games might still be hard :/ /(semi-condescending joke)

Or it could be that people don't like partying with randoms and would prefer to solo. You shouldn't be penalized for wanting to solo. You should be awarded for partying, yes, but it should be a POSITIVE award, not a "party or you won't go anywhere" mentality that 1.19 has implemented.

This IS a problem because a lot of people are mentioning this - this is no different from the AH vs MW debate.

Not to mention one of the highlights in this game was being able to solo if you wanted to. Well now I want to and I can't. So....yeah.

Ugh, they've taken a major step backwards and gone down the "old" FFXI path - soloing blows, and partying is the only real way to EXP.

As opposed to soloing being perfectly viable, with partying generally being more fun & faster. So it's not just me then - I was having a bitch of a time with my GLA today just fighting level 15~16 mobs as a 15 GLA (I'm 16 now) wearing full optimal gear (but no materia).

And honestly, everyone is so god damned anti-social on Figaro I couldn't party even if I wanted to. I saw some people enter the new dungeon alongside me, but they ignored me completely - in fact, 1 of them was being power leveled by a 50 THM who was just owning the crabs.

Please, do something about this SE. Don't back down the path of punishing solo play, I thought you'd finally learned your lessons around the time level synch came out for XI.

Leve EXP is all messed up now too - why did they remove the bonus EXP per synth from crafting leves? Now instead, you get a paltry bonus when you finish the leve based on the quality rating of all your synths. What's even MORE stupid, is that if it's a very high rating, you can apparently switch to another class (since EXP is generic now) and have that class get the bonus XP.

I'm going to try this later on my 23 BSM with a R1 craft and switch to culinarian or something when I go to turn it in to see just how much bonus EXP I can snag. I much preferred the older style, getting 500+ skill per synth (especially since you couldn't transfer that EXP to another class for what basically amounts to self-power leveling)

I don't have any problems soloing level 15 mobs as a level 13 MRD (and haven't had from 1 to 13), and reports up to level 40 have indicated the same- soloing is as good as ever. Perhaps even too good. 35-40k/hr in the 30's is nothing amazing.

Gladiator, being slightly more suited for tanking, is going to have slightly harder time soloing, although you're hard to take down. It's easy to notice even at lower levels.

It seems almost a week still isn't enough for people to stop spreading false rumors.

    They removed easy mode

Made the concept of battle on par with other MMOs and, well general logic, make making it an even fight between any player and any general mob od the same or similar level.

You now get the XP on a mob your level that you did on mobs 8-10 levels higher, so you get the same XP for similar battle difficulty.

They maintained some semblance of logic by demonstrating a system in which, in a game by design and genre, is for multiple players to work together, and making such teamwork much more profitable then soloing at a seperartist.

    Whats the problem ?

    I dunno, those bats were chomping down on my HP fairly quickly. I could use some new gear for sure, but what I'm wearing isn't that bad;

Copper Rings & Wristbands or w/e for extra HP, Copper Circlet (sunstone), Bronze Chainmail, Bronze Spatha, Bronze Hoplon +1, Copper Armguards (or w/e they are called - the big lv 13 guantlets), leather breeches (red), & dodoskin shoes. As I said, mostly level 12~13 stuff that's about my range.

I'd like to synth some more higher level gear for myself as the market rates are just obscene, but Yellow Gremlin doesn't seem to have updated all the recipes yet and I don't know where to look for any real updated guides on raising crafts. it's especially distressing since I can't make spteches after leather anymore for easy additional skill ups (and money). Same goes for woodworking and willow masks...

And again, as I said, for whatever reason everyone on Figaro just keeps to themselves. I'm really starting to hate the server, everyone is so god damned anti-social it's depressing. Makes me wish more of my friends had this game.
