Crystals are almost always important in every game.

Final Fantasy: Crystals need to be saved 'cause bad stuff happened to them and the weather is all jacked up now.
Final Fantasy II: ....Okay, I guess there really isn't much of anything crystal related here. Pass.
Final Fantasy III: Crystals give the protagonists powers. Dark Crystals are there too because otherwise there's too much light or something. There's a Crystal TOWER. So yeah, lots of crystals.
Final Fantasy IV: Already discussed, but yeah, crystals galore.
Final Fantasy V: Basically the same as Final Fantasy III crystal wise, sans Dark Crystals. Vibes of first game's crystal plot in there too.
Final Fantasy VI: "Magicite" is just another name for "crystal."
Final Fantasy VII: As is materia. Especially Huge Materia, which don't even try to not look like crystals.
Final Fantasy VIII: The Crystal Pillar. Causes the moon to poop out monsters all over the place.
Final Fantasy IX: Crystals are the power source for planets. Doesn't really come into play until towards the end of the game, but it's still pretty major.
Final Fantasy X: I guess there really isn't much with crystals here.
Final Fantasy XI: You can't turn a corner without seeing crystals in this game. ACP had so much crystal going on they make you beat the crap outta one.
Final Fantasy XII: The Sun Cryst lost its "al" somewhere along the line. Also The Great Crystal, which I guess isn't anything too heavily plot related, but it's there.

So yeah, crystals. Pretty big deal in almost every FF game.

Instead of the Warrior of Light we would be a L'cie I suppose, and the Fal'cie would be Hydaelyn? xD

Gimme the L'cie brand as tattoos anyway.

    I feel like it's a given that we'd be L'cie and Hydaelyn our Fal'cie

Primals would become Eidolons. The method of their summoning could possibly be the same, it's a little different in each one. In XIII you needed to be a L'cie to summon, however, in Type-0, summoner parties were considered the suicide squad because it required at least 3 people and it kills them (barring certain circumstances).

Primals could also be lesser Fal'cie (Carbuncle was a Fal'cie in XIII, though he was just a big floating crystal. We could probably play with the lore). Which would work with tempering, because instead of tempering people, the Fal'cie could enthrall their victims by making them L'cie.

In that case, then the Egis can be the Eidolons.

The Ascians could be L'cie as well, with Zodiark as their Fal'cie.

Be interesting indeed, as much as people complained about XIII people tended to like the La'cie and all the focus thing which I think was the coolest part about it, you do this or you turn into a horrible rock zombie.

I think some elements would work while others won't. The world of XIII, type 0 and XV are all a modern setting but that could work if the Garleans was that Modern setting, so like they were the La'cie or a chosen few, and they still had a emperor but he gets his power from the Fal'cie.

In type-0 the empire is analogous to the garlean empire in every way possible... Also there are some nations (they you have to go out of your way to unlock and find) that have some old world settings (particularly the dragon ruled nation). It makes you actually think that the world were actually very similar. Even the "Fal'cie" (which are crystals in type-0) give the heroes power beyond the normal magic use. Obviously with the exception of one particular Fal'cie, who was not one of the crystals. And of course, the l'cie in the game (which the heroes are not btw) have world saving/destroying powers. Any more info is spoilers so...

    would be awesome.

if they allow us to become a l'Cie, I mean the Super Saiyan l'Cie like in Type-0, not the FFXIII l'Cie.

I did, the thing is though that it'd be awkward to explain why there are two groups of people that became tonberries for completely different reasons. I guess you could say that the Nymians and the Kuluu are the same people and that history blurred things, and the whole reason I thought the idea was interesting was that the Zilart had a racial ability that sounds very similar to the Echo - but unless they are gonna retcon something in, I don't recall the Nymians having any specific link with people born with the Echo.

Trying to stay on topic of "how things would be different if XIV were attached to the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythos":

I don't necessarily think the world itself would change all that much. Most likely just a few possible questions the game brings up would go into far greater depth and a lot of the underlying mechanics and class attributes would be forced to have a bit more of a unified theory to them, especially within any use of magic or even any abilities that would appear to contain trace relation to magic (e.g. Chaos Thrust, Dragon Kick, Souleater).
Depending on how much they wanted to push the original ideas of civilizations living a sort of repetition of damned childhood (growing to prosperity before facing ruin made inevitable by having no knowledge of its prior iterations (previous umbral eras)), class may remain in their more world-natural/practical/organic state. Jobs, however, would probably already start to hint at a larger archetype than just of heroes or specialist combatants of the past.

Overall, most points of ARR and HW's optimism would gradually be underlined but complete ominousness.

    1. By now we'd probably already be a bit more convinced that the Ascians are in fact correct in many of their assumptions.
    a. Might, in place of the terms umbral and astral eras, simply describe the gradual, periodic movement towards calamity and ruin (incredible potential stripped from the world by nature of its own individuals' 'heart') as (a/the) pulse.
    b. Would likely see calamity, or its destination, as ultimately necessary. The less darkness present, the faster Hydaelyn essentially melts itself, and with or without darkness it will eventually expend its powers completely.
    c. To what purpose was Hydaelyn made? Even if the FFXIV universe formed with Hydaelyn already present, the question would still likely follow its purpose of being created (assuming some further removed creator).

    2. City states may or may not be more technologically advanced, but there would probably be a more unifying theory of magic, though its applications may have well been limited to theory prior to coming of the warrior(s) of light.
    a. What is magic to the world? Why is it there? What is its role?

    3. Primal concept probably adjusted slightly
    a. Can still be fed by raw magic (crystal) and prayer, but they'd probably be dealing with a slightly modified rule-book, so to speak, as to how they accomplish the purposes they were summoned for, rather than the purposes for and impressions in summoning (balanced only by their traditional attributes, also included in such impressions) controlling their personalities completely. They'd likely have a sort of part in a 'larger picture' rather than being almost entirely insular, passive landmarks of power.

    4. Needless to say, Zodiarc might appear to be either the creator or her destroyer in this setup.
    a. Likely appearing first to have been Hydaelyn's creator, but later either also the cause for its inevitable ruin (having cast the first god into the nether, which is gradually draining it) or actually the creator only of something else -- Hydaelyn's own creation being the result of a infusal of the first, now-dead god's strength, which has been surprisingly effective but is far from infinite.
