I’ve 6 of my crafting jobs to 60. I need to meld my new gear thou. For Crafting, Control and CP what are the minimum numbers I’ll need to shoot for? Thanks…

1 star items require 589 Control, no requirement for Craftsmanship.
(personally, i found 728 craftsmanship to be the best for 1 star crafting, but it's hard to achieve this stats by pure melding. I suggest using Baked Potato Soup HQ)

2 star items require 718 Craftsmanship & 695 Control, but you cannot achieve these with melding alone on i150 gear. You will need to meld + use either Seafood Stew HQ or Baked Potato Soup HQ to reach the stats.

Personally, I believe CP is a stats that SHOULD be maxed out as much as possible... more important than Craft or Control in my personal opinion. But CP materia are usually cheaper (check on MB to confirm), so it's usually better to start your melds with Control/Craftsmanship, but plan ahead to have enough space later to max out CP.

If you go for high Craftsmanship, then you can use Seafood Stew HQ to reach the desired Control. If you use go for high Control, then you need Baked Potato Soup HQ to reach the desired Craftsmanship. Both food gives you a lot of CP, which is what you truly need.

The good news is, you don't need to penta-meld everything to reach the desired stats. But if you want to achieve certain stats for certain rotations, you need to know exactly how much craftsmanship to shoot for.

Katlyna has many 2 star rotations listed here:

Jade also has many 2 star rotations listed here (including a very nice rotation by Rath):

I also have a bunch of 2 star rotations listed here (see chapter 49):
    http://ffxivrealm.com/guides/ff14-ad...e-tsukino.156/

You need to know which 2 star rotation you are going to use, and then plan for the melds + food accordingly. If you're following mine, I have my melds shown in Chapter 38.

    You can, actually http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/RQBQ
But it's not a great idea to spend millions in materia melding I suppose...I think a good balance would be buying the ilvl180 main tool and the perform some melding in the first 3-4 slots.

Thanks very much for the replies and the info... yeah I spent millions to get my MIN & BTN Gathering to 660 and Perception to 672 with GP at 650... But I’ll use the jobs until SE once again raises the level caps...

As someone in a similar position, I decided will be capping the accessory melds first. Only doing enough for what I need to farm red scrips then plan to farm red scrips and use red scrip gear to craft the 2 star replacements. It will take a lot longer but it will make crafting the 2 star gear easier and vastly higher chance to create HQ versions of the 170's. While saving many millions of gil for when have 170's and need to start melding those.

I will then meld those 170 as go along. The reason I do not want to meld 2 star replacements before then is because even with fully melded i150's you barely hit the minimum so the chance to produce HQ and not waste a lot more time having to farm the materials for the i170 HQ and almost always getting NQ. This is specific to my crafters though, gatherers I am fine just using fully melded i150's for the most part.

That's my plan at least, not sure if it is the best plan but it is the one I am going to do. I am however hoping the red scrip cap will soon be raised if not before 3.1 then at 3.1's release, I can't imagine SE will keep 450 cap around the time of 3.1 as that would be quite asinine. It is weird though feeling like need to go from 150>red scrip 180>back down to crafted 170 because the 170 set with proper melds is better than 180.

True. I got the 718 craft and 695 control with that without hand and off hand meld. You can do sb on chestnut accessories and convert them to materia. 5 materia roughly took me 45min to 1hr on solo run.
