A coincidence .....or not? ( It has spoilers )

Im surprised nothing has ever make a topic or even a comment about it. Any way I guess im gonna do it xD
On my journeys across Dravania and re watching cutescenes on the in, I notice something really peculiar.

Take a look at this:

This Marcechamp, a chocobo hunter on Talifeather, we have meet him before( is he hunt leader? I dont know )


This guy is one of the 12 knight of eld, we just know him as "Brawny Knight" . We saw this on our echo vision.( No name showed )


I know I know, this could it be a hole coincidence, maybe the dev team doesnt have much of imagination and by accident they made 2 faces 100% equaly ( I doubt it ). But maybe its not the case, remember when a lot of people found out that Lucia was a Garlemand lot before it was revealed on the game.

If this turns not to be a coincidence, is really interesting. Maybe a descendant? I dont think that either, why? Beacuse everyone on Ishgard are descendants of the Thordan and the 12 knights, is possible that could appear someone that looks so similar?

Ok, maybe super I'm wrong, I dont know lol.
What are your opinion guys?

We know that Elezen as a whole have slightly extended lifespans compared to the other races, but definitely not by a thousand years (and still keep their youth).

If not, and if he and the Brawny Knight are indeed the same guy...then that brings up the question as to how did he survive and maintain his prime after a millennia?

He has the same scar. could it be that it may have something related to the fact he ate one of the great dragon's eyes ?

For those in the know, didn't they do something similar with Morimar in XI? That would be a coincidence. (although Id still like to have that great axe)

I believe that Hades hinted that

Morimar, like Teodor, was vampiric. Well, not directly, since he got it from Teodor. The cute tiger buddy has it happen to him, too, that's how he recovered from that fatal wound.

I just stopped playing just after they added the ki farming in that sewer for a BC. I always suspected that Teodor was to Dracula compared to the actual vampire mob, but those other two.. who knew.

Back to the topic, if nothing else I agree that's its just a recycled npc. If they are not part of the greater plot they are a MacGuffin. It's not like the main characters besides the Garlands that have something close to unique designs that can't be made in the player generator. I've already seen an Elderly Godbert in the Fisher level quests, and many other Godbert look-a-likes in the past months. If anyone remembers the rpg's that used 2d sprites. The entire game would be populated with clones. Only the main cast had a unique sprite that could be easily spotted in a crowed. Even now there's a lot of repainted re-skinned clones for the NPC population if you look close enough.

To be honest, I thought the 'Brawny Knight' of the Knights Twelve in that Echo scene was actually meant to be a reference to the tavern the 'Forgotten Knight' in Ishgard, as it makes perfect sense (after all, the Brawny Knight clearly mentions laying down his sword and shield and taking up an "honest trade, like serving ale."

So if anything, I think he was the original founder of Ishgard's tavern, explaining it's name, because after all, his name truly was forgotten - it wasn't even mentioned in the Echo (although given the fact Clan Centurio is based out of there too, maybe... there might be more to this along your idea as well!).

The "way with the women" that's a "story for another time" might be a nod to the guy at Tailfeather...

Or they just have very similar models coincidentally.

My point was that on this game we have always found tips that have being hiding in plain sight. Tips that may revealed something on future content.

I thought the same.

The similarities between the gentleman at tailfeather and the Brawny Knight I believed to be character creation limitations.
