I hate it when everyone leaves immediately. We had a successful run; I want to give someone a commendation! But, I guess I'll just have to be content with getting all the loot from the final boss.

She's got a chicken to ride, this game's from Square!
Oooof. I'm always happy to help newbies but sometimes I wish I had come to an instance as a difference class just to make things go smoother. Just got out of Castrum with a group of mostly fresh newbies who had never run the dungeon before or likely even watched a video. Which is fine, but they would not for the life of them listen to advice in the chat and tried to take very single pull as slowly as possible. Cannons? What cannons? Don't attack Livia and instead protect the cannons? Sorry didn't hear you, still attacking Livia and running her /over/ the cannons. It didn't help that the newbie tank fought for aggro with the more experienced tank and kept things to a snails pace, to the point one person dropped the party at the first set of cannons. Which again, is fine, if they're comfortable at a slower pace then more power to them. I'm just worried that they might not get as helpful a reception going forward, as the MSQ dungeons are basically mechanics optional.
Kudos to the veterans who stayed though. Everyone else was really helpful and tried their best to offer advice. It kinda went in one ear and out the other, which I imagine is because the newbies were overwhelmed, but hopefully the next time the newbies run that dungeon they remember people's advice and have an easier time.
I amuse myself in Ghimlyt (sp?) Dark by saying before we fight the first boss, “okay, everyone know the drill? Oh, wait; that’s the second boss...”
Did that last night, and when we got to the second boss, one of the FPS says “heh, drill. That’s still funny.”
If SE doesn't sell them, 3rd parties will sell leveling services.. And there are people who can do thing the long way and still not get it. Bads will be bad, regardless.Context: The Keeper of the Lake, me healing, helping my bf level up his Ninja. A new WAR, and new DRG. When people are new I give explanations, but first thing the tank did wrong was running the hell away without Protect. After giving him said buff, the guy wasn't using any of his cooldowns. We told him several times to do so, and in the meantime the DRG kept disconnecting. 2nd boss, the tank killed us all facing every Flamethrow and aoe to us and then when asked if he knew how to use his cooldowns, he said "I used them all in that boss silly, when you all died". I reply "well, you killed us all, facing everything to us". Then he has the guts to tell me "heal me better, or leave". I checked his search info, and judging by the lvl, he was of course a jump potion. The rest of the dungeon was awful, even with the sorry SAM we got in replacement of that DRG.
I swear, jump potions are a huge mistake. New players who use them have absolutely no clue what the hell are they doing. Some of them don't even know what a stack mark is... it's frustrating. Most of these new players don't even do the Hall of the Novice (which also screams for a HUGE revamp), they don't check any guide, they just run towards everything thinking they are invincible, thinking there's no mechanics to follow.
And now we are going to get SB jump potions... great...
Jump potions for new players shouldn't have been allowed. Maybe for those players who already have another character and want to jump their alts, but already having knowledge of the game. Stormblood's rotations and mechanics need more attention and effort, otherwise it's just frustrating to play with these people. If SE is planning to keep with this, they should at least lock them behind some requirements. "It's for the new players that are joining the game and want to play with friends straight in the current content"... This is just a sabotage to the rest of people who actually went through the whole game and learned how to play it.
Frankly, I'd rather SE get the money than the grey market that often turns to dubious means to get things done.

Trying to run Orbonne for the bard jacket and pants.
Had a raid abandon at TG, not because we were bad - in fact we did really well. Rather, A's healer Dc'd and when they tried to kick and replace, it came up saying "Player no longer present" and they couldn't kick. The SCH was struggling to solo heal and they just couldn't replace the healer so we abandoned.
Has anyone ever encoutnered it? i'm trying to do a quick search on that whilst the inprog Orbonne i q'd into kills 2nd boss but i can't find anything.
EDIT; i had requeue'd into that above inprog Orbonne at 9:30pm. We just finished at 11pm with 10 minutes left on duty timer. it took a long time and 4 wipes (before add phase!) at TG for C to start doing mechanics clockwise not anticlockwise.

mfw I get blamed for the tanks dying in Suzaku Ex when the tanks wait until her TB animation is literally done casting before attempting to move out of the way... and then get blown off.
...okay.

Put Seiryu ex up in party finder. Description "Fresh learning party" someone joins we wipe once "You guys are ready for a farm party..." then he leaves. Someone only read the first letter and assumed it said farm I guess?

I had that problem a bunch when we were doing HW primals unsynced. We'd get some learners but there was always that one idiot who kept yelling that we weren't putting out enough DPS and that we should be skipping those phases, this was taking too long for a farm party. Yeah, no kidding, we'll get there? After we learn? As in, learning party?
Today I learned that Mr. Tentacles ground slam AoE during Seiryu (EX) completely ignores Raise immunity (KO'd at the end of the add phase). So that was neat.
