So something a bit weird I saw today. I was running EX Roulette on my MCH to get a bit more script gear for SAM when they come out and landed in Sohm Al hard with a WAR, WHM, and another MCH. As we were fighting the last pack of trash before each boss, the other MCH would use reload, and than they would stop attacking, outside of low cd oGCD's. I get they wanted a 5 ammo opener on each boss, but it really felt like any time they saved us on the boss was just wasted on the time they cost us on trash.
People basically not noticing the healing is being superseded by the dmg they take. What is it with people doing Titan HM yelling at healers for not healing. I had that same problem once, when a tank yelled at me to stop pure DPS (I went SCH) and not healing. I didn't even touch CS, and has been solo healing so far but people kept standing in the bads. I cant even catch up healing.
You can tell these kinds of people rarely or never heal or they just haven't been put in a situation where they have to heal people with their same craptastic performance
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I enter normal nidhogg, and we have two newbies. They ask for any tips and i say "don't stand in the bad stuff, and stack for akh morn"
You wanna guess which two things they didn't do?
You wanna guess who was the target for akh morn?

Thankfully, LB3 was up and i saved the whole run. Of course, half the group died 1 minute later because they stood in the freaking circles, but we did it.
Not a bad group, just a string of god awful luck.
Friends and I decided we would attempt the 200 floor gauntlet that is PotD. Our first run lasted until floor 170, so we start over and reach 120 before calling it for that. After a couple of days, we give it another go and this is where I swear, the game seemed out to get use. We had Luring traps spawn literally every single floor. Some were tucked in the corners, some around the edges, one even right by the exit! We had a narrow escape when I panic Raged and somehow killed everything with just 500 HP left while everyone else had died. Think that would be it, right? Nope! The luring explosion continues and we finally wipe on floor 147. ;-;
Earlier this week, I was dropped into an in-prog Nidhogg normal, featuring two WHMs. One was new. The other didn't seem to know any better.
We wiped thrice, by my count. The rest of the party had probably experienced far more wipes without me. Both WHMs kept dying to everything under the sun, including Nidhogg's frontal cleave. That's right, they were standing up front with the tank for whatever ungodly reason.
When it came time for Akh Morns, it usually happened with multiple people dead on the ground. These WHMs, in their infinite wisdom, decided that casting Cure II was clearly the way to get past this. Yes, Cure 2, not Cure 3.
When we finally cleared, it was with a ton of Echo, almost everyone was dead on the ground due to a lack of heals, except for the PLD and WAR, who carried us like a couple of medal-winning firefighters.
Sadly, I was too stunned by the sheer incompetence I had witnessed, and didn't take the opportunity to slap those WHMs a good one.
Wondrous Tails is a cruel mistress. (And so are hunts.)
It's a conspiracy, I tells ya.
Now for an actual DF story. Last night I threw out 16 raises on SMN during Calofisteri. It might actually have been more, but my chat log didn't go that far back by the end of the raid.
This morning I had a Frontlines where I was going about as usual on WHM, got a bunch of jerks on me while my party was on the ice, and decided to pop Attunement for invulnerability at low HP. Except... I forgot to toss on a regen first, and you can't do ANYTHING with attunement up. I was certain I would just keep those guys occupied for 10 more seconds before getting killed for my stupidity.
Then the PLD cast Clemency on me.
I'm so sorry I can't remember the name now (I was shouting praises to him during the match though), but they went above and beyond what I expect from a tank. Thanks to them I was able to keep annoying the enemy teams and help secure a win![]()
Did Aurum Vale a bit ago on my newish SCH. We zone in and I eat my food/toss up protect. Tank pulls the first 2 mobs.... both dps leave. Um, what? I mean I know it's AV but give it a sec eh? We get 2 replacements while we are killing those 2 mobs and proceed to have probably the most clean/fastest AV I have ever seen. I was able to be in CS probably 90-95% of the time (this -never- happens to me in AV). Kinda glad those 2 dps left afterall. :P
PotD stories -
1) Finally get past level 50 boss in matched group. I took advice and actually paused at floor 49 to ask if everyone knew fight. I explain mechanics to those who don't, and all of us executed nearly flawlessly, with two tanks and two dps. And on those 10 floors, I think I got more upgrades to gear/weapon than any other time. Had to give props to that group.
2) Decide to try my luck on 51-60...and yeah...craziest, clunkiest DF random ever. Again, two tanks and two DPS, and we tripped every trap, mimic, bad juju, etc...and somehow managed to actually press through and kill boss. Had to revive everyone a bunch, everyone had pox like 2-3x, and it was simply godawful...but we succeeded in spite of late night slopfest suckage.
