Yeah, think again. The amount of "not worth commending" tanks in this game is insane, i guess people are happy if the tank doesnt leave Aurum Vale when he accidantely qued for random low lvl dungeon instead of random trial. (happened to me Y_Y)

Every dungeon run that was okay is quickly forgotten, but people always remember the horror runs.

Was in PoTD earlier today on floor 80. I wiped twice in it. Both the groups I was with were great, but we kept getting hit by a serious amunt of bad luck; especially the second party I was with. I never noticed it was possible to get three crippling debuffs on one floor and then get spammed by an literal sea of monsters in one room. And I was sort of useless the whole time since my weapon and armor were only 41-45.

    It made me quickly miss destorying all who came before me as a BLM on my Alt with 99+ weapon might. I was a weak Warrier who barely made a dent on my main... ;u;

Btw, does training and learning to use new job classes in PoTD seem weird because I do it all the time in it and PvP Frontlines. I tend to quickly learn all the bits and details of my job classes better than when I do it in regular dungeons and stuff because outside that content, too many times have I struggled to truly figure out how to play every bit and detail right with my classes due to having to just "kill the mob or boss as fast as I can". Does that seem weird or am I not the only one? O.o

There are particulars to potd that are bad habits for play outside potd. (From my experience on floors 1-100)

    For instance.

While inside potd, dots are practically useless except on bosses. Stuff just dies too fast for them to tick down, and with as little time as they have a direct attack will deal more potency per gcd than the dots.

Enemies inside don't have positional requirements. In normal content, dps will have to use their positionals for full potency.

If you take into consideration these and other quirks of potd, then sure, it's not a bad place to try out jobs.

Anyone willing to learn their class will learn it, anyone not willing to learn their class won't learn it.
Regardless of the method of leveling.

I am currently in PotD matched party DF hell. Every time I get to the floor 50 boss, at least one person has never seen the fight, has no idea how the mechanics work, etc. I cannot get past that freaking floor.

I've found it's easier to tell new people to stay near the boss. Especially ranged as they try to stay at max range and then can't get in the safe zone for that particular AoE. Getting them to look away from Cold Feet is still a pain though.

Yeah, I think I need to make an "explain the fight" chat macro. Stay near boss, melee DPS uses Lust at start, tank with Rage, etc. Nothing real hard about that fight except lack of knowledge for first timers, which is like every Matched DF party in that place.

Really, all you need to know is look away from cold feet and avoid the aoes.

Expanding on the aoe with she tends to alternate close and far for safe areas.

So, back in Antitower for Level 60 Roulette. Having learnt my lesson from last time, this time I was PLD. A severely overgeared PLD with 33k HP. Party was SCH, NIN, and SMN. Both the casters are new, and rather undergeared, but it's fine, nothing I can't carry. The NIN was nice enough to put out some good DPS and never even complained when I didn't do big pulls, because this SCH.

    Oh, this SCH.

To begin with, they didn't bother putting on Aetherflow at the start. That's always a warning sign for me. I don't think they ever put on Cleric Stance throughout the entire dungeon, despite the fact that I was taking about as much damage as a brick wall being attacked with feathers.

Nope, instead, their M. O. was to spam Physick. Over and over and over and over again, until my ears are ringing and I have the worst headache ever. I got a scratch? Physick! A mob looked at me? Physick! I'm breathing!? HAVE A PHYSICK! And the most irritating part was that these Physicks were healing for 3k, on average.

They couldn't even be bothered to help kill the Dollhouse adds at Calcabrina, when both DPS got trapped. At least I found out it's rock-stupid-easy to break them out on my own, even as a tank in tank stance.

Earlier this week, I kicked someone... AS A MENTOR!!!!!

    But hear me out:
I was doing PotD as Dark Knight, my other party members were a French Ninja, a slacker Ninja and a mancat.
While we were clearing floor 95 (I think?), the Frinja noticed that the Ninja didn't use any poisons. Why, you might ask? I have no clue. It's one button press for a 20% physical damage increase.
Now, the Frinja tried to get the attention of their fellow DPS by using the auto translation dictionary to translate the ability names. No reaction. We proceeded to the Cairn of Passage, but I didn't step into it.
I told the Ninja: "Please use your poisons, it's literally one single button press for a good damage increase".
No reaction. The Frinja added "Try to use [Huton], too."
Again, no reaction. I told the Ninja that I wasn't going to step into the Cairn until they start using poisons.
    Finally, a reaction!

    "Sorry, I don't speak French"

I can tolerate someone being bad because they're new, but I won't tolerate snarky attitudes like these. The Frinja used the auto translation dictionary because their client was French and I saw the English ability names on my screen.
The Ninja went poof on the next floor (thanks, Frinja), but then came the part that really surprised me. The mancat spoke up and asked "really?".
Yes, they wanted to tolerate bad attitudes like these because "4 people are better than 3".
No thank you. I am not wearing this crown for fun. And if you wanna be rude, I will whip this kind of behavior out of you.

I mean, what is the point of tolerating selfish and lazy players? You tolerate them for a few runs and then you're gonna log in to the forums and complain that the player skill level is declining. If you don't forcibly show these people that they are in the wrong, they will never learn. And if they don't learn and quit, I don't care.
    People these days, ffs.

What is it with people doing Titan HM yelling at healers for not healing. I had that same problem once, when a tank yelled at me to stop pure DPS (I went SCH) and not healing. I didn't even touch CS, and has been solo healing so far but people kept standing in the bads. I cant even catch up healing.
