@Lilyth You did nothing wrong during that run. It sounds like you were healing and DPSing at all the right times. It's not your fault that a rude dragoon got too much tunnel vision to make correct judgement. Keep being you, and don't let somebody who clearly can't appreciate the effort you're putting in stop you from healing in Dun Scaith. That goes for everyone else in that party who dismissed you, as well.

I was thinking it was more of "We're doing this old content unsynced, so it's entirely faceroll, and I don't have to bother with mechanics, much less using my tank stance even though some of the DPS outgear me." It wasn't just a question of them failing to understand how MT for Ramuh Ex works; it was them just refusing to use their tank stance in general.

Did Weeping City for the first time in ages. Glad to see that place can still be a nightmare.

First, we get to the second boss and sit around waiting for nearly a minute. Eventually, I thought to myself, "well, no one else seems to want to tank. Guess I'll do it?" and so I pull. 30 seconds into the fight, I guess the other tank changed their mind because they kept trying to provoke the boss and fight me for aggro. Like, I have no problem letting someone else tank, but if I'm already tanking, then...no. Take your ass on to the back of the bus with everyone else. If I die, fine, you can take the wheel. Until then, enjoy the ride.

Anywho, we get to the final boss a.k.a. WIllow Smith (sorry, terrible joke...). That tank from before pulls and tries to get fancy. Tanks her at the edge of the arena and keeps spinning her around so no one has to dodge. Now, for some this may not be a problem, but in my experience, 9 times out of 10, that strategy will go horribly wrong.

And it did.

Long story short, most of the raid already has a stack or two of vulnerability and/or weakness from dying already because of the tank's poor positioning.

At around maybe 15%, the tank pulls the boss to the far right side still trying to be fancy. The vast majority is to the left of her. Guess what side of her she used Haircut? She ends up killing most of the raid. Now at this point, one would think the tank might have learned...something? But nope, healers start reviving people, but everyone keeps getting cut down because the tank can't make up her mind about where and how to position the boss.

We eventually clear with about maybe 8-10 people spread across all three parties. In hindsight, I wish I provoked off of her, but I also feel like that would've just made things worse if I was trying to tank the boss one way while the other tank was trying to tank it a different way. Probably would've still gotten people killed in the process, ya know?

The lesson of this poorly told story is this: just tank her in the middle of the room and stop spinning. Sure, some tanks can and will do it perfectly, but most tanks are not those tanks.

I decided to do a quick trial run before class started on my sch today and got Sephirot. No big deal but I saw that my co-healer was in noct. I asked him to change stance. They refused and decided to dps the whole time. Not a big deal, at least they weren't rude at that moment and decide to start a shield war. However, Sephirot killed them somehow (I think they stood in the tank towers) and they began to 'critique' my healing as half the party got flew off the platform. To say the least I never revived them and we completed the duty. But holy hell, we're about to go into Stormblood and people need to get it through their heads that sch shields are not made of paper. Besides, don't sch tend to crit more? And my fairy could heal that trial as easy as a Sunday walk!

Queued for Expert and got a in-progress to Baelsar's Wall. They were 66 minutes in and I was kind of dreading it just from the timer alone. XD

I load in and see they are at the final boss (hooray!), and sprinted to the sloppy boss guy. I asked what happened to their other dps and they said he refused to burn the boss and then left (uh, ok?). They wiped to sloppy boss guy a few times before as well. We start and I soon saw why; the dps was low from the other guy (he was a drg, though I have no idea what their other dps was before I joined). We saw 4 or maybe it was 5 lionheads before he died, but at least we won.

I would say this is Satire..but then I bet someone will try it.

Made a PF for Bismarck EX today. As with all my PF parties, I set the required ilvl at 200, because if you're level 60 and can't be bothered to buy ilvl 230 gear by now, I don't want you in my party.

Ended up with a WAR in left-side ilvl 230 lore gear, and ilvl 270 slaying accessories. Clearly, I need to raise my ilvl requirements even more now. Maybe ilvl 240 would be more appropriate. Here's a tip to tanks: if your base HP is barely 4k above my BLM's HP of 21k, and barely 1k above that of the melee DPS, you should not be tanking.

Of course they fell to their death when Bismarck flew away from the island too.

They really need to make it so gear that's not matched to your role counts as ilvl 0 for ilvl calculations. No requirement in the world will stop them from wearing non-tank accessories currently >.>

So, what happened? I hopped into a A1S farm party for my DRK relic. Things went fine for the most part, but half way into one our later pulls someone brought up A9 and asked how hard it was. I stopped DPSing for two seconds to answer them; saying if they've cleared Sophia/Zurvan, they can easily handle A9S. Well! Apparently, Mr. Tank did not appreciate conversation in his farm party because I wound up swiftly kicked after we cleared. How do I know he blacklisted me though? There was another farm party up this morning and I couldn't join it. Looked at the name and lo and behold who the party leader was. Could it have been something else? I honestly can't say since we didn't have wipes and my actual damage despite stopping for those seconds was far from low. Maybe being slightly off center on a resin bomb stack? Still, found it really amusing someone was that "srs bsns" in an A1S farm.

I've already seen this mindset trickling into some of the Thordan Ex groups I joined back when I was farming for his bird. Marked healers thinking they don't have to move behind everyone to be shielded from Zephirin. People thinking towers can be ignored (see this in SephEx often too). That's why I was so hell-bent in getting my birds now before it just got worse in Stormblood.

BisEx can be like this too when the two Sanuwa show up. :v We don't need to pay attention to which debuff we have. Nope. Not at all.

How dare you discuss A9S in an A1S light farming party! Don't you know how rude and disrespectful that's is? While you're in A1S, you can only discuss A1S strats or how many runes you have left to go on your current relic! /s

Though, something similar happened to me while I was doing my WT primals last week. Joined a guy's group for Garuda, I was the only one who said "Hello" and "Thank you for the group ^^" afterwards. Later I saw he had one up for Odin (which I also needed), tried to join, and couldn't. Uh, okay. If they seriously blacklisted me for just being polite and saying hello/thank you, then wow.
