Queued for leveling roulette as a monk and got Stone Vigil normal. Bard and I are level synced while the tank and healer are not. Right from the first pull, I notice the tank takes HUGE chunks of damage, and the healer has a very slow reaction time. I used mantra every time it came off cd, as well as stunning when necessary to help out. The tank's hp dips dangerously low during every pull, but we manage to get the first boss.

Everything's fine until the boss starts casting Swinge. The whm gets hit by every single one and barely tops himself off in time. The whm had a black mage at 60, so I figured they had to have done SV at least once... Soon enough, the whm's delayed reaction time catches up to him and he dies. During this whole ordeal, the whm is SERIOUSLY neglecting the tank, who is already taking abnormal amounts of damage. Tank eventually dies and goes "...". Luckily, the bard and I are able to finish the boss off.

As the tank and healer are running back, the tank says, "What are you doing <whm name>?". Healer says nothing, and this is where things get hilarious. Tank then says, "Say something plx <whm name>" and the healer said, "something plx" LOL. Tank then says something about how the healer must be doing something else while playing. Bard leaves and a summoner joins. Every pull until the final boss was a butt-clenching moment for me, even as a dps. @_@;

We get to the final boss and the whm makes no attempt to avoid the areas where the boss swoops down. Shortly dies after from very late heals. We wipe and from then until the end of the dungeon, the tank keeps insisting that the whm was preoccupied or something, even saying, "Not eating for 5 minutes isn't going to kill you, <whm name>". The one thing that was clear was that the whm wasn't learning from any of his mistakes. We wiped twice more from the same situation and the tank kept saying the same thing about the healer. Also, when any aoe damage went out, the whm didn't use medica even once. Instead, he individually put regen on each of us... I pointed out that medica was more useful, and I eventually saw him casting one... when he was on the complete opposite side of the room to ALL of us. We get a lucky attempt where the dragon manages to miss all the spots where the healer stands and we finally beat it. I checked the healer's and the tank's gear. Healer had lv 30ish armor with completely wrong accessories and the tank had some DoW gear on. Summoner and I /flamesaluted each other and I gave her my commendation. I'm 90% sure she gave me one too. Twas a fun run indeed. X'D

Also just had a run where a geared healer was complaining about tanks with strength accessories in Praetorium ahahahaha.

Sounds like the same person I got last night while leveling my monk in SV lol, they kept getting killed by the huge line aoes at the final boss as well. Maybe we have cross-datacenter clone AFK healers.

On a positive note I had a 15 minute run of amdapor keep right before maintenace in lvl 50 roulette so sometimes you do end up with good players.

Ignoring the two level 15 gear you listed (since the person you responded to said (paraphrased) "no tank gear before level 15"), those are actually counted as lancer/dragoon gear -- note the lower Mdef on them. Tank gear always has the same Def and Mdef.
That said, they're still unavailable to a rogue =)
(Then again, he should still have some from before that tier, from all the quest rewards... Or, if he went for the money instead, there's plenty of gear to buy from the vendors in the three cities. So yeah... It's about as annoying as tanks running around in cowls, thinking their protection is adequate >.<)

Actually, there is one tank piece before level 15. Custom-made Cuirass at level 5. (Also, coincidentally, the one tank piece that disregards the "equal Def/Mdef" rule.)

Semi related note... The first caster earrings, not accounting the moogle and cactuar ones that are level 1 and limited...

Plundered earrings at level 15, dungeon drop.
Adventurer's earrings at level 25, I don't even know where these come from, and frankly didn't know they existed till I looked just now.
And then, finally, the various gemstone earrings at level 29...

(And I'm pretty sure the Adventurer's Earrings are limited, too, if not 1.x. I've never seen them, at least.)

Had a Vault run yesterday with a BLM who was putting out a fraction of the damage I was doing as a barely competent NIN, (to emphasize my point, I was doing more damage even when I forgot to use a poison until right before the final boss, due to switching classes right before entering the dungeon), but was trying to tell our healer how to do her job. To add to the matter, this BLM also didn't want to split particularly often when the chains showed up, (despite not using Ley Lines as far as I could tell), and when our tank mentioned that they needed to do more DPS against the orbs after we wiped to them, their response was that they weren't paying attention to their MP. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm not a fan of playing BLM, (don't even technically have it unlocked), but isn't watching your MP one of the main things you have to do to play the class? Needless to say, the vote kick was unanimous.....

Queued for what I thought was Trial Roulette on my level 57 PLD. Ended up accidentally queuing for Leveling Roulette. Got DD. I was... uh... intoxicated at the time. So these poor guys had to deal with me not being able to type and barely able to play. They were good sports about it, but I felt really awful for making them put up with me, lol.

Even worse, a BLM has the best MP recovery in the game, bar none. Any BLM worrying about running out of MP is doing it oh so very wrong.

A friend and I got Fractal on lvl 60 roulette today (He was blm, I was whm). Was wondering why the drg was consistently last place in dps and realized that entire time they weren't using heavy thrust (or any buffs for that matter). When asked why they weren't using heavy thrust at least, they said "is that one especially helpful?"
