Had a DRG in The Vault who never used Heavy Thrust at all through the entire dungeon. Totally serious. Not even once.

Weird thing was he used Blood of the Dragon as much as he could....but somehow didn't know to use Heavy Thrust even though you learn it at level 12?

People really confuse me.

PS. After first boss I actually did type out that he should use it and keep the buff on because it increases his damage, no response and still never touched it even once :/

Twice I ran Dun Scaith as a PLD, twice I ran into healers who got themselves and others killed because they were happily spamming heals in Cleric Stance. At one point, I ended up having to serve as the poor man's third healer when both of them went down to the first boss.

I know DPSing is fun and all, and it's easy to tunnel vision or whatever when people suddenly need emergency heals, but please. You should know when you have Cleric Stance on, by the time you get to a level 60 dungeon.

I was in the Vault with a dragoon with the same issue! He was at lvl 60 so I just didn't say anything. -_- At that point you can't teach someone if they just won't learn.

Reading this thread is funny as hell. Unfortunately I don't have any recent tales I can share from duty finder because it has all been strangely smooth for the past few months. Maybe it's due to better gearing but I've done leveling with sprouts who followed instructions and maximized their potential.

I did have a funny Dun Scaith on Tuesday where a dragoon on my group had 9 second lag but that was funny as hell because his dead corpse would do all the mechanics and run all over the place.

I had a, lets say somewhat stressful run in the Levelling Roulette.

On the road to get AST to 60, I'm level 53, so the levelling roulette being 'kind' puts me in Sohm Al. I'm in with my boyfriend with him on DPS, we have a mentor monk dps and a Paladin, who had all his battle jobs at level 60 besides Paladin which was 54 so I'm like oh this is gonna be a nice swift and swell run. (Hadn't looked at his gear at this point.)


Well, the problems start almost immediately. He does a large pull on the offset, which isn't too bad as the enemies don't hit too hard in here. However, that would have be the case if the Tank wasn't in mostly i90 gear...... he was dropping like a sack of bricks, the spam heal and repetitive strain was too real xD

We get through it, there was one moment were he dropped to 257hp but luckily Essential Dignity came off CD and I had a Benefic II Crit.

Rest of the dungeon he does regular pulls (part of me hopes he realises the strain/pressure he was putting on with such subpar gear, or alternatively he just thinks I'm a terrible healer and reduces his pulls).

The rest of the dungeon was mostly tolerable but couldn't stop healing him for a second. I was very relieved when the whole ordeal was over.

The whole thing left me wondering if he had just levelled up most of his jobs in Potd and didn't really bother getting any gear. Having all his other battle jobs at 60, you'd think he'd have left some gear behind from drk and warrior to use....

I'm doing that "the old way" and when a job hits 60 I've enough gear to let job sustain expert 60 duties. Not everything maxed but enough, if you save the drops that you win with offspec greed.

hi guys i got a tale from my tanking today.

I censored it in msn paint, and it is missing a bit where I said the dungeon wasn't potd as a few people ran ahead to pull.

the story is in the image, but i'll retell it. I main tank drk character info here

I load up in the dungeon Amdapor Keep, i wait up for protect, and SS II then go pull, the dps attack before I pull which i stated my this isn't potd, don't pull.

After a bit the whm would cast regen before every pull, being a ps4 player i need to hit a macro that turns it off, so it slows the run down. I kept telling him to stop. He kept doing it, which I replied with "please stop trolling" he also started to pull mob, and when he got hate, he would run around. Which i had to chase him down a few times, needing to spam my unleash skill (which drains my mp). having to stop on occasion to use an x-ether, or hi-elixier.

We vote kicked the first healer, and got the second, I stated why we kicked the first, and they seem to shrug it off because you can turn it off. IMO this kinda seemed like a jaded reply, which I;m started to see more and more. You're not helping the tank/run any by regen pre pull.

I have to hit a macro to turn it off because im a ps4 player, which can slow a run down if i have to auto run just to turn a cast off.


I also started to notice, not everyone uses support skills anymore such as qualling strikes or other de-enmity/threat skills. Lost hate a few times in lvl 60 dungeons and expert because of not seeing these used. I use/spam my enmity abilities like unleash, and abysmal drain (with and with out dark arts) and still have issues.


anyway those are my d/f stories.

i also want to apologies to : Everill betterstill (cactuar), A'un sun(cactaur) and Angeal Lionheart(balmung. I'm sorry i bailed mid run @8:30, what happen was my b/f (nym) open the door while i was playing, i had my headphones on and didn't hear it till he poped out and scared me. This triggered my supraventricular tachycardia (svt) and made me sick. Pretty much i left the run and had to run to the bathroom.
