So, been awhile since I've had a dungeon run that was actually worth posting about. Man, do I have one tonight.

The bf and I were running Gubal Library NM for MSQ on our alts (him - DRK, me - AST).

We get a DRG and a BRD, who as it turns out, were together. So, hi's at the beginning, normal trash pulls, no issues. We get to the first boss, and the DRG just cannot avoid the bad. His health is dropping like a rock, while I'm trying to dodge, buff and keep everyone healed. He dies right before the first disclosure. The rest of us make it to the other side. I try to raise, but he's too far away. Had to wait for the next one.

While we were fighting, DRG pops up with snarky comment #1.



Blue - BF/Tank
Green - Me
Red - DRG
Yellow - Bard who never said anything beyond hi, and whose play I had no issue with.



Now, I have never, and I mean Never had someone complain about my healing. And only once have I had someone say anything rude to me in DF. I know, lucky right? ;P So yeah, I was angry and upset and got snarky right back.

Back to the story though, cause this was only the beginning. Next disclosure I go ahead and raise him (even though would much rather have left him dead). I don't even have time to heal him before he's dead again (standing in the purple). I give up till swiftcast is back, focusing on keeping the rest of us alive. Once it's back, I raise him again, pay special attention, throwing him an ED and an asp bene (regen). Fortunately boss is low enough now we can finish him off.

Now, could I have kept my mouth shut and just continued? Sure. But somehow I doubt that would have been the end of the trouble. A few words from me and the bf and we continue. Pull the next trash, and the DRG runs off to grab some mobs further ahead. We all leave him to it. He promptly dies. Aaannndd his little monster buddies come running for us. Too much damage at this point = wipe. During all this I tried to kick him, sadly I forgot you couldn't do that in combat. So, once we wiped, tried again. No go. Someone wasn't rolling on loot. Hmmmm.... wonder who that could have been? So we try to vote abandon. Rejected. Meh, whatever. BF takes the penalty and I follow. Hope that DRG had a lovely half hour waiting for a new tank and healer.

Final words on the subject. This kind of player, this is what happens when dps, or anyone else really for that matter, gets carried through content, no one ever telling them what they're doing wrong. They get to cap or close and think they're perfect, and everything is always someone elses fault. And then they proceed to merrily ruin DF runs for the competent portion of the playerbase.

The only thing I disagree with is your BF taking the penalty. I would have waited out the loot timer and booted the goon. Also weird that he started out saying he was new here, then when you called him out, suddenly he "had no problem the last time he was there." Interesting. >.> Sorry you had to deal with that either way.

I joined in cross world pf for A9s where the party composition is: 2 DRK, 2 WHM, 2 DRG, 2 NIN..
At faust, it was prolly the longest faust battle i've ever encountered, but we managed to kill it without casuality in 1 attempt.

The battle with refurbisher didnt go as smoothly, one of the DRG kept dying from acid rains until he got double weaknesess. Despite 3 DPS, we managed to kill all of the woken bots even when offtank placed them one the wrong spot at one point and i needed to stop attacking them. We wiped at 2nd double scrapline when the MT failed to get minified..

The dying DRG however went salty and blamed the healers for the lacks of healing whereas one of the healer actually recorded the fight where the DRG got 2 regens, got his hp topped up (15kish) and he still died from acid rains without other mitigations.. couldn't help it, rit?

A competent grp can pull that. If stuff dies faster hell yea and u like the kick from living on the edge.But I would not try that with a bunch of df rdms.T8 savage as a marauder back there was fun.

Thank you And actually, I seriously considered doing that, but neither of us wanted to give derpgoon another chance to snark at us.

Bit of an update - Our second attempt at Gubal went very smooth. Had an awesome MCH and DRG. Trash packs melted so fast, I was able to help with dps. Something I wasn't able to do with the previous pair. Less dmg going out, less healing draining my mp = happy AST. ;P The only hiccup was the last boss. We didn't quite manage to keep the add from spawning in time, so vulnerability stacks built up and killed the tank (bf on DRK again ofc). Then got one of the dps too, right after I get him raised and healed. But seconds later, fight was over. And guess what? No snarkiness or finger pointing.

Wasn't feeling too well yesterday, but wanted to get my 50 roulette done.
I was hoping for a party full of level 60s, massive pulls and an ez pz dungeon.

I got Qarn HM, 2 sprouts (tank in iLevel 90 gear, healer with HW leveling items) and a manqote level 60 Dragoon who seemed a bit lazy throughout the whole run.
Since I wasn't feeling too well, I was already prepared to take the penalty, but to my surprise, they all responded to my greeting and the sprouts announced that they were new.
I usually try to give people a chance if they're considerate and / or friendly in general, so I didn't leave and began the dungeon.
The tank did small pulls, the manqote died to the quicksand during the first boss, we wiped at the Sabotender boss because I forgot when to interrupt her 100k needles and when to kill the add and every single one of them got mummified at least once during the final boss.
But they were being cool about it and didn't rage at all, so it didn't really bother me.
They thanked me for giving them hints and I got 2 coms.

...I went straight to bed after the run, though.

It is refreshing when you end up with groups who realise that "stuff just happens." that is often beyond control or down to being entirely their fault and not the fault of healer who was doing everything in their power to keep them alive.

Long story, because I love it when at first I think I'm going to have an angry rant by the end, but then I don't. <3

I've taken a break from my SMN main and have started levelling NIN. \o/ I got Halatali in levelling roulette. Warn healer I've always been a caster, so I might flub things a bit while learning melee. We have a sprout SCH, sprout ACN (who had bonus) and tank that says she usually heals, so this is only her 4th or 5th time tanking. First thing I do is check her gear (mostly lvl 15 gear, but no belt, and maybe 1 or 2 level one accessories, the rest are empty).

So already I know tank is gonna be terrible, just for the simple fact she doesn't have any gear. :S But whatever, it's a low level dungeon, nothing really hits bad enough that a DPS couldn't tank it if need be.

We start out rough. Tank pulls waaayy too much for her gear level (only 2 mobs, but without any gear, she can't hold any, and what few she does hold onto just murder her in 3 hits). I start tanking whatever I can, but poor Eos is an enmity magnet, and of course with 2 sprouts with me, they get flustered and things dissolve from there.

Tank apologizes after wipe, admits it's totally her fault for pulling too much. I'm pretty chill with it, because yay, no finger pointing. I mention we would probably be fine with smaller pulls, and that she should look into getting some accessories to make things easier on herself.

Ok, take 2. Pulls go a little better after that. She still can't hold much, and I notice her MP bar barely dips, so I tell her she should try using flash more often, and explain it's her biggest enmity grabber at this low a level. She doesn't at first, so I repeat it on each pull after that and eventually she gives it a try. Goes way better, I think she only lost one enemy that time.

So yay, tanking already smoother, she messes up a couple times, but nothing we can't recover from, and there's notable improvement with each new pull. I suggest to SCH and ACN that they should try opening with miasma instead of bio because it gives the tank a couple extra seconds to build a bit of enmity (for those that don't know, miasma has a cast time, whereas bio is instant, it can be a bit of a pain for new tanks to deal with lol). SCH doesn't say anything, and ACN says she gonna give it a try, but next pull I see 2 miasmas pop up first. \o/

Bosses were... interesting. Usually I would just burn fire boss, but we don't actually have the gear to do it and we actually got pretty close to wiping when the damage started adding up, so it's pretty much me running back and forth killing flame adds, occasionally throwing my DoT up on the boss. XD With lightning dragon it took a few times of explaining that no, don't stand in the purple water, wait for boss to come back. And last one again is mostly me running across the room after adds with the odd dagger throw at the boss lol.

It was a little aggravating, but by the end teamwork was way better and competence level was much improved, which is all I can ask for because now next run they have some proper building blocks to work with. I love newbie parties like this where you can offer constructive advice and people accept it. \o/

Just running through MSQ on a new alt because i'm too cheap to just buy 7 other retainers. I finally get my little sprout into sastasha, and give the heads up before loading in. Yknow. The usual. "I don't have great gear." "I haven't leveled LNC up enough yet, I'll probably need to take a stop or 3 for TP"

I see a "That's ok" pop up and then i load in. the DPS is Bard AND BLM. oh gawd. Really? BOTH? this will be fun. just for reference sake, it's me as sprout MRD, sprout BRD, sprout SCH, and a "mentor" BLM

BLM was the one to "reassure" me. All goes fine... up until the first jellyfish (yeah, not even a full pull in). the BRD is a bit trigger happy and hitting things from 25y before i can even tomahawk and the BLM is sprint body pulling ahead of me. Well that didnt last long. BRD is whatever. i'll wave it for a sprout, even if they are trolling on an alt. No, the BLM "mentor" has my attention at this point.

Well the BLM body pulling with sprint turns into chainpulls. Yes. they are literally sprinting off mid-combat. OK. Seriously. You know better than to sprint ahead and body pull. ESPECIALLY when the tank is out of TP after the last 3 chainpulls you initated.
Whatever. I sucked it up and pulled aggro back. Yeah. I can do that on a brand-new set with a BLM and BRD both with emnity leads without TP. I actually sucked it up, stepped up, and actually tried in DF. I'm an idiot, I know. Didn't say a word either. it's sastasha, I'm just a liability, after all.

At the end of it, though? The icing on the cake was when we get to the boss, the BLM goes off the deep ends and tries to start a rant about how they carried us. How I was "so slow". how the SCH was just auto-follow the whole time (they werent), and how the BRD was only spamming 1 the whole time.

I can fight my own battles when it comes to this, but when you attack your own party's performance in SASTASHA, and when youre a MENTOR mocking SPROUTS?

... I never saw a vote kick complete so fast before. Best part was, they didn't even get to finish their rant.

Some people just need to be marked as toxic instead of given a crown...
