So fiance (NIN) and I (SCH) got Great Gubal Library. We got a tank (DRK) who says he's new and BRD who didn't say anything. Tank ran off before both NIN and I could say anything. Okay, pulls are fine. Then we got to first boss. Thought we were going to wipe.

Both tank and BRD ate all the debuffs. BRD then died from not moving to the other side. I swiftrez her and topped her off. In the meanwhile tank ate debuffs and die before my Physick popped on him. I try to top us all off but BRD died again. With my swiftcast still down for another 30 seconds, I let my fiance tank for a bit and hardrez tank, topped him off and swiftrez BRD a second time. Tank kept alive but BRD goes down the count a 3rd time after being topped off. Instead of raising her again, I waited until my swiftcast was up and raised her just in time for the boss to be defeated. What killed both DRK and BRD? With the exception of the BRD falling to not moving to the other side, she died from eating the debuffs and not moving.

After that, the run was okay. Second boss posed no problem but I knew last boss would be a problem. My fiance explained the last boss mechanic about the lights and markers. As for the lights, he ended it with "you'll see what I mean with we have to match the number lit on each circle", so we expected the first try to be a fail. We were doing okay until the 3 lights came on. My fiance and I ran into one circle and told them to come with us. Nope.

So we ended up having 3 (from what I saw - might be four since we didnt put any of the "chains" up). We wiped.

Second try. BRD leaves those voidsent lights all over the place while my fiance and I bring them as far as we could. We wipe the voidsent lights.

Finally third try. We managed to beat the last boss. After that hard work, neither the tank and BRD said thanks. Actually whenever I run anything, at the end, we just say 'thanks for the run', commend someone and leave. This, nothing. They just up and left.

So I'm dead tired and I run the Expert Roulette. It's gotta be at least 5am, I can't even remember.

I go into Xelphatol, then I make the mistake of greeting the party and following it up with "I ammm tired." The response I was given by, if I recall correctly, the tank.

"Hi tired, I'm dad."

And the other DPS

"He steals my jokes."

It was at that moment that I realized exactly what I was in for: A dungeon run full of DAD JOKES. We go through fine, everyone is completely on point until we get to the elevator. Far as I know, everyone gets on and goes up...then the healer speaks:

"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS. YOU BETRAYED ME QAQ"

She was still at the bottom.

It was silly all the way through our run. What got me was when we finished the dungeon and I got 2 comms. Scientifically speaking, that means 2 of these people came in as a party and the other came in solo. I got queued up with some real weirdos...

So I did mentor roulette last night and got the Aery. Not my favorite....it's such a long dungeon...the tank and DRG were new and the DRG wanted the boss fights explained but that's what we're there for so here we go! I grabbed prey off the tank and DRG at the first boss to make that mechanic easier for them. But it was a long haul, I had to recast protect at Nidhogg. Dps was a bit slow and at one point I told the DRG "if you use heavy thrust at the start, and keep it up, you will do more damage" ...so I was worried about dps but everything turned out fine.

So I switch to DRK after mentor roulette, complete a trial, queue leveling for my 10-cluster quest, and load in to....none other than... the Aery.

Oh no, I just got this for mentor roulette. ._. Well, here we go.

Dps was a bard and a machinist but they knew what they were doing. We got through everything faster than my previous run and at the end I was surprised with three comms.

Got a tank earlier who would not stop moving mobs out of my shadowflare.

If I can stand still long enough to slowcast a shadowflare then your butt was done with the pull.

I have a couple of stories this time. A couple of days ago, Leveling Roulette popped my Heavensward dungeon tanking cherry and gave me Sohm Al. I dislike healing Sohm Al, so I was a bit in shock that it stuck me in there. I was That Tank who forgot their oath. Fortunately, the AST had my back. The BLM and BRD destroyed things. They were really cool about it and stuck with me while I shook it off and got my head right to tank properly.

Last night, I was working more on my pally. Queue Trial with the wife on her SMN and Selli on her AST so she could "feed [my wife] all the cards." We get Ifrit HM, I didn't even look at party composition much. Popped Shield Oath (double checked, after the other night) and took Ifrit. I noticed someone standing next to me and note that it's the other tank, also in ShO. Every time Ifrit breathed, the guy lost half his health, and it looked like he was wearing the i90 pally gear, though it could well have been glamour. I wanted to tell him that he should probably pop Sword Oath and get in behind Ifrit, but I didn't want to risk losing aggro, and it wasn't really hurting anything. The WHM died to Ifrit triple rushing across the arena, just kind of stood in the middle and ate all three before I could get close and Cover her. Between that death and the squishy off tank, Selli had her work cut out for her. And she did feed my wife all the cards.

Leveling roulette as AST, a few days ago, dropped me into Qarn.

Before the circle is even down, the unsynced SMN states that they don't have their accessories. To be exact, they were missing a ring, earrings, and a necklace. I didn't like it, but neither the tank nor the MNK seemed to have a problem with it, so just... ugh.

As we start, the SMN decides this is the best time and place to start asking what all the buttons on their pet hotbar do. Nevermind that this is a level 35 dungeon, that all those buttons come with tooltips that tell you exactly what they do, or that it's easy enough to just find a damn target and test out their functions outside of a dungeon.

Fine. I explained to them what the different buttons do. They start pausing to type out long paragraphs about how inconvenient and annoying it is that Ifrit-Egi only starts attacking after they finish casting their first spell. Then they start going AFK for no reason at all, leaving the 3 of us to clear the dungeon.

As we reach the final boss, after another string of complaints, my patience is almost at an end. I'm so ready to just yell "DEAL. WITH. IT." in response to their complaints about the SMN job.

Though great effort of will, I restrained myself and told them instead to "just deal with it for a few more levels", since SMN gets Ruin II at level 38. And even then, they have Bio or Virus. Or, you know, clicking on the pet hotbar.

Apparently, this is "so rude", since that was what I got in response.

Really.

Rude. Putting up with incessant complaining, putting in DPS that they were too busy being AFK and typing, to put in, putting up with the fact that they had more than half their accessories missing, and explaining basic mechanics of their job that they should already know, is rude. I'm not even a mentor, here. I am under no obligation whatsoever to deal with all this.

The entitlement of some people is simply beyond this world.

Sounds like you put up with it much longer than I would have.

This isn't WoW, you can just level a different job on the character if you don't like it (and I would have told them so).

So a few entries earlier I mentioned I'd gotten Aery for mentor then leveling two days ago one right after the other.

I queued for leveling last night and got, guess what, yep, Aery again.

Most of the dungeon was okay but we got to Nidhogg and the tank stood outside the shield so he died, had to raise him, try to keep the dps who pulled hate alive, lost him, other dps got jailed while I was keeping us alive and waiting for Swiftcast to get the BLM up, lost him, got the melee up and he did the limit break and it was over, thank god. Ended that fight completely mp starved despite assize and shroud.

I felt bored and queue sophia extreme as a warrior.. As soon as the black screen faded away, this conversation happened:

Never in my entire playtime I've met a player so well known (infamous) by so many players being cooped up together from different servers.. And yes, I checked that the 1st healer is from Ragnarok, 2nd healer and DRG are from Cerberus, MNK is from Lich, and BRD is from Phoenix.. And yet they know this tank and how infamous he is.

Long story short, he never used provoke on tankbusters and letting me tanking with debuffs, at one point he managed to get aggro from brute attacking since i was in deliverance and he died from tank buster due to having 4 vulnerability debuff.. After he died, both healers didn't even bother to raise him.. He got kicked after the 1st wipe and we tried solo tanking it but unable to do so with so much damage to deal with..

I actually know the player too when I was still a frequent in mentor roulette in Garuda and Titan Extreme.. And well... I was there when he got his achievement while laying on the floor.

I was in PoTD earlier today when I disconnected. Luckily I was only booted to the lobby rather than my game crashing entirely, so I was able to get back in almost immediately (I'd say the whole process took about 30 seconds). Apparently not quickly enough for my group, though. I reconnected to one person saying, "Oh, she's back," and another apologising for trying to votekick - a couple of seconds before I got the vote dismiss notification and landed back in Quarrymill. And I mean, I get wanting to replace inactive group members, but they couldn't wait even a minute to see if I got back in straight away?
