Sorry if it seemed like I was criticizing you. xD I wasn't. We can all be lazy. It's not like not using DE will kill your team.

While on topic though... Wanderer's Palace, lvl 50 Roulette.
Got in as a SMN, with a NIN, WAR, and AST. There was no second chance or bonus so it's clear this is nobody's first rodeo.

But... It really might as well have. In fact, it was abysmal. The tank could not hold aggro at all. With mobs constantly shifting towards me or the healer. Sometimes, even the NIN. If he's lucky.

He couldn't even had the decency to spam Overpower or Flash and despite our advice, we only got silence in return.

After so many questionable actions by the tank that defy common sense. It finally came down to the final boss. He sprinted towards it. There was no time for buffs. NIN tried goading him. It wasn't enough. Not like it matter, he couldn't tank. Suffice to say, tragedy ensured.

Landed in Praetorium as BLM, with 2 WHMs who were both wearing a mixture of fending and slaying accessories, along with a horrible assortment of ilvl 90 job gear and maybe some 110 pieces.

A single cure from one of them was healing for maybe 600-700 each. People died. I wanted to not be there.

EDIT: Okay, I'm a BLM main, and I know my job inside-out. So maybe it's not exactly common knowledge to all BLMs out there that the exact amount of time it takes for your MP to regen back to full when in Umbral Ice III is between 3-6 seconds, or maximum two ticks of the GCD. I still can't help giving the stink-eye to any BLM I see spamming Blizzard or Blizzard III for like 15 seconds straight in their rotation, far past the necessary amount of time.

It's such a minor thing, and there are a thousand other ways to mess up BLM, some which I've seen, some which I've committed myself, but dear god, every time I come across something like this... </3

Went into Gubal HM as a BRD, got put with an AST and tank who were obviously a couple, judging by their interactions. Tank pulls all the way to the seal/ gate thing, Healer (in Noct stance) decides this is a good time to DPS... for some reason. They manage to clutch heal the tank in time and keep them alive, but between their obsession with DPSing and focusing on the tank, me and the other DPS eventually die to the unavoidable AOEs going out because it appears we did not feature on their "to heal" list. As we respawned back, I said "wow healer, ur gr8." They responded with "no heals for you until you apologise."

Very similar thing happened to me. Tank and "healer" were a couple judging by their shared last names. Healer is only healing the tank, not one heal on me as a summoner. I died. Made a comment about not a single heal was given, and the response from the healer was " don't blame me for your mistake." Apparently a DPS is never to touch any of the enemies at all as the tank is making his/her way to their chosen destination (even though the dragoon was also attacking as we traveled, and nothing was said to the dragoon).

Then I was told the healers job is to heal the tank and not anyone else. LMAO, OMG was this for real? Yep, she was serious.

So, apparently all of us healers out there - we are tank healers, we don't heal anyone else! Spread the word because our job just because much simpler.

I got my Thornmarch EX clear last night. /praisethesun

Getting there was an experience, though. The first group, nobody says anything at the start. That's fine. If everyone knows the fight, we're good (I watched like 3 video guides, so I was ready). I ask the other tank, a PLD, if he wants the WAR or PLD. No response. No Oath, either. Ooooookay. I ask more clearly, and he says "Whichever is best for you." Doesn't fill me with confidence. I say I'll take PLD, tell him to get WAR.

Fight starts, I pull the king. Mogs spawn, and I grab the PLD. Run to the side, do my thing. Focus target the WAR to watch stacks, and off we go!

Eventually, a Healer asks "Why am I tanking?" I figure he just doesn't know the fight and I say "They have no threat table." His response was "The tanks do". Oh, no. Oh, God no. The WAR is running everywhere. Our other tank was running like a chicken with no head, hitting anything close to him. We try and get him to take the WAR back, no dice. He does Voke off of me when I ask... But then just starts hitting the invulnerable boss with all of his moves. And does that until we wipe. He does the exact same thing a few more times, and he gets vote kicked. This is all on top of tunneling moogles, btw.

Look: if you don't know a fight, that's fine. But, when we tell you what to do, you need to freaking listen.

Others leave, and we abandon. Looks grim for my clear. I let some time pass (so that tank gets in someone else's group) and queue again.

Second group, the other tank (DRK) says once we load in "I'm new to this one, can you MT?" My gut reaction was GOD NOT AGAIN, but I quickly realized this guy was communicating, which means he will listen to chat. So, I explained how to tank the fight, voke and all. I also made special mention of killing all the mogs equally, for the sake of everybody.

Off we go! Tanks and Healer's are on the ball. We are on top of it. But, the DPS are having trouble with dropping the adds together. We wipe a couple times (and I see that I did mess up one mechanic telling the group, I didn't realize the king was still invulnerable until all adds were dead at the end, my bad guys). We keep talking about the unequal DPS, and can't figure out who is tunneling so hard.

Last try, best effort so far. One of the moogles is super low, and we're all staring at it trying to figure out who is tunneling. A particle effect hits it, and God and everybody sees... Garuda, who hasn't changed target all fight. We did succeed this run with like 0.1 seconds left on the wipe cast. That poor Summoner just left immediately out of shame.

As frustrating as this fight is, I love it to death. Holy crap.

Gubal HM run... WHM seemed to only spam Medica 2, Cure 2 or Cure 3. Commonly ran out of MP on fights as... the tank only needed a cure, why would you use Cure 2/3!?

Mob before last boss, somehow tank dies and I end up tanking. Pop Keen Flurry, he's at 4% no problem. The freaking NIN then LBd it... Fast forward to last boss, healer dies and we get the boss to about 10% ish. Tank falls and we do our best but the NIN's DPS was almost negligible. Should've saved that LB buddy, probably could've prevented a wipe. Took 2 comms from it but my back was SORE from carrying so hard.

Polar opposite Gubal HM run I had today fro what the good people above me have been describing. Random DF tank was a DRK in raid level gear and melds. We we're all(AST, NIN, SMN) ilvl 250 +. Possibly one of our fastest ever clears. No tank stance necessary even during massive pulls. Killed last boss well before behemoth even spawned.

On an entirely unrelated note, I learned you can indeed survive Gubal HM with just Second Wind as a DPS!

I'd have just retorted with "well i wasn't getting them before...so...."
