I look at the monk 2 seconds later and see that the balance is gone, he clicked it off.

OH MY GOD WHY MY DPS HEART BLEEDS
...and it reminds me of a BLM who yelled at me because I gave him a balance. Didn't help much that I was pretty new to AST, I was level 32 and very confused after this, I made notes of the different card effects and who wants to get which card - and this BLM really made me think that balances on DPS are wrong in the first moment D:

And I kinda remember an Aurum Vale "run" when I was leveling some DPS job - I got paired with a dragoon named Aru and a warrior named Artemus. We had a good laugh about all these similar names, but unfortunately our healer immediately bailed at the start of the dungeon, and as we never got a replacement, we had to leave

When a DPS drops a Balance, they are very likely having aggro issues, which isn't something you can always tell as a healer.

Unless Quelling is ready to pop, it may be safer to cut off Balance and keep outputting something verses ripping aggro with the increased damage.

I've been pretty impressed with how non-toxic DF is. I had a run last night where I got rightly called out by the healer for not knowing what was going on and getting killed, but the other guys pointed out I was clearly new (yay sprout icon) and they all explained how the dungeon worked. Things went pretty well from there (though probably slower than it would have been with a better tank) and I somehow got a couple of commendations at the end despite dying twice during the run. It's really nice to not deal with typical MMO PUG toxicity. I'm sure it must exist, but I haven't seen it personally yet.

Leveled my DRK to 50 then found myself in trouble: there're numerous 50 dungeons most of which I've done only once in DPS role. How dare I join the leveling roulette from now on as tank? Maybe I should open a guide web as well...

Honestly, if you openly admit to being a newbie to an area, even if you've done it as another job but not your current one, the great majority of players are willing to help or at least deal with it. I for one appreciate it when a player admits to being a learner as it helps me gauge how hard I should go in my damage output and if I need to explain mechanics as we go.

Despite this thread being our horror stories or our weird stories, most DFs go without a hitch with pretty easy going people.

Every time I get a player that can't do more than 600 DPS in any high level duty.

Also relevant when you get a healer in A12 using INT gear to boost their iLvl for a clear.

Tome farming for relic has resulted in: warrior who popped Raw Intuition... while mass pulling without Awareness; bard who never used Straight Shot unless proc'ed, and insisted on playing Mage's and Army's while at full mp/tp; two BLMs who were 6k hp at ARF vs my 10k; three newbies who refused to follow directions; Clemency-happy PLD; one mch who refused to keep up hot shot. Out of the 10 sands, no bonus. Ugh.
Smn who only used titan nugget; drg who liked standing in front of bosses that cleave w/ b4b; nin without a poison or keeping huton up; two more clemency plds

Why do melee DPS insist on saving LB 2 for Midgardsormr when it would be so much better used on the add dragons? Why?

But that's still not as depressing as the level 60 DRK I ran into in Keeper of the Lake, who never once used Blood Price as far as I could see, and certainly never bothered to use the Dark Arts/Dark Passenger/Dark Arts/Dark Dance combo.

As the healer for that run, I crid everytiem.

mainly cause DPS want to use the LB on that last bit of health on the main boss. Least that's what I do. I just feels like a waste to use it on adds. It feels better to end the fight with LB normally.

Who would've thought my inability to tell right and left apart fast enough to respond would catch up years over years after primary school, in a video game, as my brain's doing an infinite loop of Forward and Back and then Forward and Back and then--

Joking aside, I don't wanna go into A11N next week even if it shows my slow brain that I'm about to get hit and WILL eat a Vuln Stack, but after trying A11S for the first time I gotta say, I do appreciate that yellow-orange marker that's just saying "Oh, you bumbling slowpoke. You are Booboo the Fool. Behold your folly and eat this Stack" now...

Also got into Stonve Vigil and Brayflox for levelling roul yesterday and today on my alt, both runs very very smooth and that Stone Vigil was hilariously fast, like, in those almost 2 years I've played this game I've never seen a Stone Vigil go past this fast?? Bless that heal that was in there with me and my friends.

Is Exodus an EU server? That NIN might have been me, I'm ALWAYS forgetting my poisons and hutons (hint: I don't play DPS for a reason)
