Palace of the Dead...

I go in as a Ninja. Paladin and Summoner die at floor 43, one member having lost connection on floor 42. I'm the only one left alive in a three-person group, no PD, but plenty of healing capabilities to help me solo enemies 1 on 1, sometimes 2 on 1. I fight hard, all the way until I finally reach the Cairn of Return. Took me maybe 10 minutes, or so. Just as I reach the CoR, a vote abandon pops up. Just as I click no, someone finally joins, and the run goes bye-bye.

Wow.

Eh, in 8-man groups, AOE balances/arrows are more effective for the overall DPS than single target ones, specially if you don't run a parser and know who's top DPS.

Is it? I'd think with rng you'd be better off dropping the card instead of holding onto it and hoping for the combo.

Is it? I'd think with rng you'd be better off dropping the card instead of holding onto it and hoping for the combo.

Thanks to the decreased Shuffle CD, most of the RNG is simply cancelled out. You actually ALWAYS draw something useful, and even if it doesn't turn out to be an AOE balance, there are other nice opportunities to use cards. Like a Bole on the maintank, an Ewer on the bard singing Requiem, or a Spire on a monk. But I give you this much, as a main DPS myself, I can understand well that you cry over held Balances.

This is a new one...Tank was upset in Brayflox because DPS was crushing the pulls. We never aggrod but we decimated any pulls very quickly. Trash went down quickly, Bosses went down quickly.

Tank just lost her cool and stated her cooldowns are now out of sync because of this.

In the three years of playing this game I never experience a tank upset because her cooldowns were out of sync because of the speed we were killing mobs

Balanced myself once or twice on accident while healing in Gubal yesterday. I swear I'm a good Astrologian 90% of the time, yesterday just was the other 10%

Queued for a leveling roulette on my alt as DRK and got Tam Tara with a lvl 21 CNJ who spent the entire 18 minute run spamming cure. Just. Cure. One after another after another. At one point I had to go slightly around a corridor to pick up a patrol mob and my health got lower....and lower....and lower...until I was at about 30 hp and pretty sure I was going to die. The CNJ repositioned and the cure spam resumed. They would even cure me when I was at 100% hp.

Not sure if bot or saw Tam Tara and was watching Netflix.

Ahhh valid point. However, I'll see them hold any and ALL cards until they get that AOE. MT could use bole... nah, lets hold onto it and wait for the ewer/spire proc even tho most of us... don't need it? Just strikes me as instead of dropping some cards here and there to help, they'd rather hoard them and AOE drop them which you alluded to. So we either get wasted potential or we get a party with 3 melee and the AST decides everyone needs an arrow.

I understand your point and agree but I'm seeing the extreme where if it isn't an AOE card, even if only 1 person would really benefit, it is being held until it is an AOE. Seems to me random ASTs have gotten lazy after the buffs.

I had a run of Palace of the Dead earlier. Queued as WAR because I had just a tiny bit of EXP left to finish the level. The group is WAR (me), PLD, BRD1, BRD2. I get a vibe early on that just starts screaming "DF couple" at me, which always means trouble. About 2 floors in, I notice that BRD1 just has the PLD on /follow and isn't doing anything. I keep watching just in case I was mistaken, but this goes on for about a floor and a half. We don't really NEED the extra DPS, but I'll be damned if I'm going to carry someone if I don't have to. I speak up in party chat:

ME: "BRD1, can you please contribute rather than put PLD on follow?"
PLD: "She's cooking. Jeez."
DF Couple alarm bells now fully justified

After that, I put the PLD on /follow just to make a point. I figure, if he's offering a free White Knight Carry Service I might as well take him up on the offer. After about a floor, BRD1 comes back and she and PLD start making excessively lovey-dovey conversation in party chat. Once I was sure she was actually contributing, I left follow and we cleared to the boss. I made sure to pull as soon as I could, because I know how vengeful "DF couples" can be when you call them out on their behavior.

I'm not proud of how I responded, but at the same time, I feel like it was just. Two wrongs don't make a right, but annoying someone who is annoying you can feel awfully good.

Just did final steps of faith for the first time. let party know I was new. died several times but they never complained, they only said I was doing fine. got a comm at the end. best community ever.
