Luminiferous Ether reduces generated aggro, as well as the stances, Diurnal and Nocturnal.

AST has an ability similar to Shroud of Saints. Purple icon. Luminiferous Ether?

Yes, we explained this to the CU-happy AST (I have AST to 60, but I tend to main WHM because I am the most comfortable with it, and I have not healed on AST in several months, so I am pretty rusty, and don't understand the ins and outs of it as well as I do WHM). I suggested using it during the add phase to sort of help reduce the healer aggro they would be generating during the phase (and to also help out with keeping their MP up to be ready for the next phase), or to even use it after he lands to keep them from generating even more, and they essentially refused to do it. I know it doesn't dump like Shroud does, but I still don't understand why you would want to refuse using something to prevent you from ripping hate off of a tank. They never took it from me, and I developed the habit of getting my MP back to max before Alex plops down (since I main DRK) so I can just DA+Power Slash/DA+Carve and Spit, but still. :/

And that was the only run of a12 where I actually hit yes for the vote abandon. Between the uncooperative AST (who claimed they did use LA during add phase when they didn't, because I was watching them), and the BLM attacking my tanking skills, and actually refusing raises just to continue said attacking...just wasn't going to work. :/

I know AST do have their enmity mitigation skill Luminous Aether to sort of help reduce the healing hate (which really can't be helped during the add phase because of those Almost Holies flying around), and I'm also aware the Collective Unconscious is a very powerful HoT. This AST really liked their bubble because they seemed to use it every time it was off cooldown (even during the 4-man stack during Aggravated Assault). Don't get me wrong, I love the AST bubble! I just wonder if they were using it a bit too much. While I have the hyperconductive anima weapon (working on 240 now), I know that it is hardly the best weapon to be used for DRK. Just the stats for the 250 weapon (parry why no parry please) aren't ideal for me, plus I am le poor so I can't afford the 4mil people on my server want for it. XD

Got out of a group in a12

COULD NOT stack for temporal stasis. I put up a waymark. I explained mechanics. Nope, still killing each other. I raised my "co-healer" after each and every one until I was out of mana. I was basically solo-healing hardly able to stay alive. The tanks kept losing hate, turning the boss, cleaving the group. So many DPS were dead I had to do the check as a SCH (which was actually a nice break). I carried as hard as I could.

We wiped at 1% to ENRAGE. I didn't even know that fight HAD an enrage.

Me and a static mate did expert, got Google Library.

I finished with dungeon wide DPS as SMN at 1600, next highest was my static mate at 700 as AST, the BRD at 500, and PLD at 300.

Wish I could AFK for 50% of the boss fights, too! (I also tanked final boss until Behemoth spawned. Yes, the tank was still alive and I used Quelling.)

Did PotD 41-50 earlier. Party was myself (SMN), PLD, WAR, SCH. We go in and they pull one mob at a time the whole run. At one point we had a room full of mobs and a full LB, so I said, "Pull them all and I'll LB." Still one at a time. The cherry on top was them both being in DPS stances and I had hate the whole time. Two tanks, neither had hate.

Went into Xelphatol for my expert today, and we were paired with a PLD that didn't seem to tank well.

Now it seemed that he wasn't really trying to hold Aggro on a lot of enemies as very often the MCH and MNK would end up stealing aggro by not even doing that much (At least what it looked like to me) and often times I'd end up taking aggro either trying to heal the Tank when he needed it or healing the others who were getting punched in the face.

Then it came to that last mob before you get the 2nd airstone. When the entire mob came together, a second in the DPS caught aggro and were getting attacked, and when I heal.....all of them start coming after me and I guess I became half SCH half tank. With all that was going on I couldn't even tell what the Tank was doing as my focus was on staying alive. But I managed to keep us all alive without anyone dying!

While that was stressful to go through, I do kinda feel good that I managed to keep things going.

To the wonderful party in cuff of the son last night, thank you was so pleased to leave with 5 comms! Although felt a little bad that I probably only got them because the tank pulled a little early on brawler and my co healer got locked out so I had to solo heal. First time healing there though and we got through so...

When you're consistently raising the DerPS in Weeping City, and your co-healer is as well (and they also got cleaved by haircut), and the bard in your alliance refuses to play MP song. T^T With both healers at less than 2,000 MP. T^T

Also, one of the monks in our alliance got to tank the Dahak during Forgall. Because idk what our tank was doing. I think they were fighting B tank for the succubus. Why????????? T^T

But, also when you run VA with another AST, and you both coordinate your AOE Arrows/Balances to where the party is buffed 90% of the boss fight. <3

Ran a guildhest yesterday as a conjurer. Arcanist DPS ended up healing more than I did. Even cast Protect!

I'm not sure if it was "I was too focused on DPSing so the arcanist picked up my slack" or "arcanist and I had different 'time to heal' thresholds" (I think it was more of the latter), but it was still really weird.

"I remember runs as a healer in Wiping Shitty where I've had to raise more times than I honestly thought was possible. Once upon a time, I was AST and I wound up having to keep Luminiferous Aether on CD, just to maintain MP. It was a new experience for me; I'd never faced a situation where I literally had to spam LA in a fight. but Forgall teaches you new things about yourself every day.

I would at least hope that the reason why the BRD wasn't playing Mage's Ballad was because they were out of MP from either dying or playing Foe's. MCHs have no such excuse.

One of the first times I ever tanked Wiping Shitty, we wiped to Forgall because A's tank cleaved everybody with Dahak. As C's tank, I went for Haagenti, so c'est la vie. So we went back and tried again. A's tank said nothing about the wipe, or the adds. Absolutely nothing, when they had plenty of opportunity to say something. I mistakenly assumed that this was because their alliance had informed them of the mechanics, in party chat, which I was naturally not privy to, and that they were now properly prepared to tank the Dahak.

Come adds time, I go for Haagenti again, as is my lot as C's tank, and suddenly I find myself fighting for aggro with A's tank on it. Meanwhile, Dahak is about as happy as a bull with ADHD in a china store, with nothing to occupy its attention. I suppose A's tank must have tried to send me a telepathic long-distance message, telling me to switch adds with them, but unfortunately, I couldn't afford the tuition for Psychic University, and so I never got my Telepathy degree. Thankfully, B's tank was nice enough to pick up Dahak after Succubus died, so we pulled through.

In celebration of this success, the melee DPS shortly afterwards decided to gift me with 3 lovely stacks of vulnerability up, while I was tanking Forgall. 'Twas most thoughtful of them."
