Manticore won't work if knockbacks are disabled. One run, someone ran into a room with rage, no knockback, died.. Second person ran after him, rage, died.. Third person pulled several of those mobs (he was trying to scoot in to res or help the manticore I think) and died.. So as DRG, I got to slowly pick off a few until I could get close enough to phoenix down someone. I had to use CDs/pots and almost died to each one, plus was sick IRL and having a coughing fit. ;__;

we had no debuff on that floor..I know that but here we had NO debuff

I just joined in progress to Vault as a bard lacking a healer, and I found a warrior tank who's telling every single party member how to use something.

Well I'm not that bothered being a perfect bard, nor rarely read DPSing guide.. But I know for sure that what I'm doing is not wrong.. And if someone's wondering why the healer left? Assumption can be made from the tank was tanking mob packs using deliverance and healer couldn't keep him up. He also lost hate once and got me dead.

Leveling roulette, we get Halatali. It's myself, PLD, my wife leveling her Lancer, random Scholar and Dragoon.

We're going through at an absolute slog. I notice that there are no dots on the mobs. I look, and the Scholar won't cast anything, ever. I look during the next pull, and the Scholar is literally following AFK, letting Eos heal. I say "Throw some dots maybe?", And I'm met with "It's temp locked".

Okay. Sure. I don't want to wait on a new healer, so I grin and bear it. First boss comes around, DPS is still abysmal. Adds spawn, and the Dragoon won't move to them. Fine. Whatever. Then, it hits me. Neither of these two are using spells. We're getting griefed, quite successfully.

I've had it at this point. We tell them "Have fun with your no-spell run. I'm leaving." I got called a "Betch", and we both left.

I'm still angry that I didn't figure it out sooner. We wasted so much time on those two.

Speaking of tank LBs, I had a tank pop LB3 on Ifrit HM the other day after the nail phase. We killed them in time, but I think the MT was our newbie, and funnily enough, it did take lower the damage! I didn't even need to Medica!

I was once declared as a noob by the other tank after the fight ended for using tank LB3 when ifrit's hp was lower than 5% since no DPS bothered to use it.

And maybe I am one of those players as a tank/healer who like to use LB at the end of the fight when the last boss is dying for the spite of the cool animation, grieving DPS because they just don't bother to use it.

It seems accepted that most DPS just do it on their own.

I think they just get trigger shy or focused on their rotation.

It also depends on the type of dps in the party. As a monk, if there's another melee (a ninja or dragoon) I usually expect them to lb. As a monk, the animation lock that goes with the LB animation can cause greased lightning stacks to fall off. If I'm the only melee, I'll go through one rotation to give myself as much time of my stacks as possible then pop it. I have noticed that sometimes the other melee don't pop it, or I forget to use it since I tend to not. In some cases though, like for expert, I know a full 2 bar lb takes off about 5% of the bosses health, so I wait until about 8-6% of the hp remaining to LB so I can keep up my stacks for the lions share of the fight.

Did anyone ask the DPS to LB?

Is it that nowadays people don't see when the boss is almost dead and the LB is there to just one hit and kill it. LB should have been used. I know some people say, "uh! it's old. we can just dps until it dies." It's true until someone does something wrong or part of the party just DC. DPS shouldn't need to wait for the other member to tell them " LB" when it is just obvious. The dps rotation shouldn't matter in this point since the boss hp is 3-5%. It's like asking a healer "LB" when the party is almost dead and that mechanic could be used to revive part or the entire party {excluding the healer(s)} to resume the hunting.
