I think some players don't even know they have job quests they can do for skills. When I was new I was doing every single quest available because I was on free trial. It came to me as a complete surprise when one of them gave me a skill. I even came into this game knowing about job advancements and being able to play multiple jobs on one character, and I usually don't do any side quests other than the main story in mmorpgs so I think I lucked out big time with this one. It also doesn't help that the job quest icons are the same as your generic side quest icon, it just doesn't stick out like the story quests do.

I was running Aery with an FC member. I was on astro and she was on paladin. Our DPS were a MCH and a NIN. On the second boss, I noticed the fight was going on longer than usual and I wasn't sure if it was the dps slacking or if it was just me being used to having WAR or DRK tanking that dungeon. At any rate, after that boss the ninja made some remark about having had two birthdays and my FC mate and I were confused but decided they must have been making a remark about how long the fight took. So I looked at the ninja and realized they didn't have any poisons up, and used auto translate to point out they didn't have it up. After that it went a little faster.

Fractal, i was pld tank, noticed that killing the first boss took way too long, i merely thought dps were not up to par with the rest of the player base in gear.

Got to second boss, the minotaur thing, fight lasted so long we had to pop all 4 containment tubes, and this time i noticed the healer spent 95% of the time dpsing, while i kept myself up by juggling mana back and pld heal. Something was definitely wrong.

i examined dps gear starting with the drg... he was wearing i125 zodiac weapon, the form before Zeta, at level 60. Generally Zodiac Zetas lose their relevance by level 56. non zeta zodiac by level 54... Another loldrg moment to add to the story journal.

edit: the rest of the drg's slots were i180-200

I got FC for my Expert Roulette. The DPS were really good, the tank was really good, but... they wouldn't even wait for me to Swiftcast Stoneskin II.

They didn't wait for Protect at the start, I Swiftcast Stoneskin II after every trash/boss and they would just run off as soon as everything died, they didn't even pick up chests at bosses. The PLD would regularly pop sprint and by the time I caught up with him he'd be half dead. :\

I like when dungeons are at a reasonable pace, but if you wait for me and let me buff you, I can DPS more! >.<

Yeah. I dont bother single target healing the ones that run off when I'm feeling fiesty. They catch AOE heals if they are lucky.

I would like to express my complete and utter hatred for running the Neverreap final boss as a BLM. Between the tornadoes and the adds and the boss roaming around invincibly I was able to cast maybe 4 spells uninterrupted. The best part is when you're just casting Fire 4 and the cast is almost finished and then a tornado gets you, interrupting the cast at the very last moment and launching you in the air. And then of course it moves in such a way that it gets you twice by which point your astral fire is long gone and you have 0 dps left to do. -_-

Or that one Vegeta-like player that stands as far as possible from the group during fights against heavy AoE bosses.
