I kept dying to Doom on the second boss in Weeping City because healers would never cleanse me. Then I realized that Warden's Paean clears it off.
Not sure who the bad player is in that scenario...

You should focus Target the add that cast doom and turn from it once he starts the cast (this gives the healers one less thing to worry with)
I did a daily on my healer and got Halitali. Things are going fine - the tank doesn't take much damage so I can cleric stance almost the whole dungeon. Then the arcanist starts healing the tank... and I think "Awesome, I can DPS even more now." I mean, makes sense; the arcanist tosses out their DoTs and then heals while DoTs are ticking away. Pretty efficient, right? Well, no. They weren't using any DoTs. When I told them it'd be a good idea to apply DoTs before healing or at least leave the healing to me, they told me I wasn't doing my job. They honestly thought I wasn't doing my job as a healer because a few times, the tank's hitpoints got below 50%. I told them that with a single cure I can heal over 50% of the tank's hitpoints, but they were adamant that it should never go below that point. In fact, by the way they were playing they didn't believe it should go below 80%. Sheesh.
That's happened to me on heals and it makes me pretty mad. One time I advised the arcanist to dot all targets and he basically said I couldn't do my job right so why should they take my advice? And don't tell me how to play the game, etc. As soon as combat was over I'd never been so happy to take a 30 min penalty. If they can't appreciate a healer dpsing I wasn't going to bother.
A few days ago I was running EX roulette on an alt, tanking Sohr Kai, with a group of a WHM, BLM, and BRD. I noticed fairly early on that killing even trash mobs was taking a while, and by the second boss about 20 minutes had passed. I had already noticed that the healer was only casting Cure 2 and Medica 2, no damaging spells whatsoever. That seemed a bit odd, but didn't explain the slow progress. Then I noticed it: the BLM's rotation was as follows. Fire 1 spam, Flare, Transpose, Blizzard 1 spam, Fire 1 spam, repeat. That was it, no other skills or abilities. I don't know if it was pure laziness (like the healer, I assume) or ignorance (I hope not at level 60) but I have never seen a BLM do that, even at lower levels. It was just baffling. We cleared in 40 minutes, and the last boss nearly destroyed all of the platforms.
Thank you! I've asked in almost every WC run I've been in if there was a way to avoid the Doom effect, and every single time, I got a one-word response: "Esuna." Seriously, they'd spend several minutes explaining Ozma, but not one person could take the time to say "third add has Mortal Gaze."
When I'm a SMN with Resurrect available, and the healer releases right after they get KO'd during a boss fight, giving me no chance to bring them back up.
