Not all in the same dungeon I hope.
Not all in the same dungeon I hope.
Well I only tolerated him because I know I will not see him ever again since it was a DF roulette run and I already had a long wait for the DF roulette to pop up. The others had their last straw when they saw he tried to kick me for his own mistake at not mitigating damage with defense buffs saying "that enemies were not dying fast enough". His gear was a bit behind the current update back then so it was obvious his HP would drop fast due to lack of proper gear but at least I never saw him again.
Still I have to say that was probably my worst experience in the DF.
It just the separate experience I had through the past 3 years since FF14ARR release. these were the most memorable so I just put them up here. I have a lot more strange and funny stories but most of them seems to involve Tank players.
People wonder why there is a belief that majority of the Tank Player base are jerks.

This is why I tank, because I've experienced...less than awesome tanks before when I healed or DPSed and since I'm pretty good at tanking and not a jerk (unless someone makes me need to be a jerk by being one themselves) it works out well for my parties.
Leveling roulette dumps me, as WHM, in Sastasha normal. Tank is a sproutling GLA who runs out of range before I can even finish channeling Protect and starts smacking at the first enemy. No Shield Lob, no Flash. What a great start.
I suggest not running out of range of Protect, and using Flash. No response. Certainly no change in playstyle.
I end up tanking almost everything because this GLA can't be bothered to put in the most basic of efforts. In that run, I never once saw them use Flash. I initiate a vote kick after the first Captain Madison fight. It doesn't go through.
After the second Captain Madison fight, I've run out of patience and come to a realisation, and I just leave. I don't care about the penalty at this point.
I know I complain a lot about terrible players at higher levels, but those terrible players got to those high levels because of other players who carried them. As of now, I refuse to carry any more terrible players, especially players who can't even be bothered to put in the most basic of efforts in the most basic of dungeons. I would only be perpetuating the problem I hate so much.

Last night an FC mate wanted needed Ifrit story mode. Since it was a bit late at night, they didn't want to wait 30+ minutes for DF. So I, FC leader & one other offer our services. I did warn them that the last time I healed Ifrit story I had accidentally let the tank die. So my confidence in healing the trial wasn't particularly high.
I play a bit conservatively, perhaps too conservatively because I didn't want anyone dying, but I did get enough confidence to toss out some Stones in addition to Aeros.
And we win! Nobody died and I emerge a more confident healer!
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
Wet one ply toilet paper tank in Stone Vigil normal who insisted on doing big pulls. He didn't use defensive cooldowns nor could he hold hate. I wept tears of blood as I struggled to keep him alive.
Great Gubal Library. Ugh.
Queued up to run Gubal for the storyline. Starts off fairly normally, up until we get to the Demon Tome. Apparently, the rest of my group didn't know that you have to run behind the Tome when it casts Disclosure (I had read a guide beforehand, because I didn't feel like tanking the floor on my first time through). We wipe multiple times before burning down Demon Tome. The next set of trash pulls and Byblos go down fairly easily. More successful trash pulls, then we get to Everliving Bibliotaph. More wiping ensues, the other DPS drops, we get a replacement with about 27 minutes to go, and we then proceed to destroy Bibliotaph.
[Signature will be done once I figure out what to put in it.]
Queue for trial roulette as AST get into final steps of faith with a bonus, think like oh it's been awhile I'm sure everybody is better at the mechanics by now....right?
Smn pulls midway through tank explaining to new person - first fire aoe wipes all the dps I say to wipe it because theres no way we'll make dps check.
Midway through tank explaining this time healer and 3 dps leave. I love trial roulette.
Did Trial Roulette and ended up helping a Final Steps of Faith. First run, we didn't make the DPS check because two people were downed. That's alright, we made it the next time and eventually beat the thing on the second run with a few deaths. Scholar from my own server decides to be a sore winner and then cuts and runs after saying, "get gud you scrubs."
Cousin, the content just came out. Maybe you should have a little more patience, especially if you insist on wearing the Mentor crown.
I really, really hope they implement a way of reporting abusive mentors like this. It undermines the whole intent because a good portion of people just want the accolade.
