I've said it before, but one of my favorite moments in this game in any content was like two days after Bunker had come out. I was in alliance A, and alliance B deleted us with their laser by mistake. They deleted us again after the raid wiped. When we got deleted by a laser for the third time, this happened in alliance chat:
Alliance A Tank: B, for the love of god...
Alliance B Healer: It wasn't us this time, I swear!
*fifteen second silence*
Alliance C DPS: oops
At which point the frustration sort of evaporated and everyone lost it in Alliance chat, with the other two going "We better be careful on this pull, or A's going to start getting murdery." and some of A like "You will never see your deaths coming. We'll let you get a false sense of security first. But oh, vengeance will be sweet."
When Bunker was current and I was blitzing it as tank (I really wanted that coat), I tried that (facing the boss inwards)... and then the party came and stacked on me before I could move to join the stack marker. After that, I started tanking the boss sideways for a while, though it felt weird to do; whether the party ran to me or stayed at our fighter's butt, the laser went off where it wouldn't hit another group. Which led to something like:
SAM: Uh... tank? Why are you pointing the boss sideways?
*alliance A and alliance C manage to somehow delete each other by mistake*
SAM: Never mind.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

Those early days of PB were fun for that....until you got the people who deliberately did it, even saying in chat they were going to do it, just to troll. When it as 100% a mistake, it wasn't so bad, but when someone deliberately ran from pointing it out to the corner, then running to the side pointing at another alliance...it made me wish I was a healer to rescue their ass, even if it meant me dying.I've said it before, but one of my favorite moments in this game in any content was like two days after Bunker had come out. Speaking of the laser -- I always get a chuckle from the time my alliance aimed their laser at the other team, and before it went off, myself and one of our RDMs started booking it over to immediately start fixing the problem. Queue /a getting filled with "oh no" and "here it comes" just from seeing us sprinting toward the other Alliance.![]()
I give up with you people. Forum community is absolutely unhinged. Imagine joining my alt's FC just to wait for me to come online to harass me lmao.
A friend told me a mortifying story along those lines; it was either in the ARR level range during the Yo-Kai Watch event's revival, or in the Heavensward range while getting memories of the dying for the ShB relic. Either way, they queued up for leveling and went to hit up a FATE or two (staying on the job in question so they wouldn't be stuck trying to escape combat before clicking Accept when it popped). They finished a FATE... ding, level up! ...and then the queue immediately popped. And of course, the level they'd just 'ding'ed was one where you got a very useful skill which unlocked only via job quest.
So they were sitting here in Discord chat with some of the FC -- just hanging out while they'd been FATE-grinding -- and were deeply embarrassed, going "Oh god, now I'm that person, the one who doesn't have the skill at this level that they should have."
I've taken that tale to heart when I see folks in a dungeon who are at a level (or just beyond) where they should have a job-quest-granted skill and don't; sometimes, the queue laughs in your face timing-wise.
(Now, if you're like six levels above where you should have the skill and still don't...)

I'll note that it feels especially unlikely to save a run in P2S, because the majority of the time I see multiple people dead late in the fight (other than "Why were there only four people in the Coherence stack, and none of them was a tank?"), it's because they've yeeted themselves with Flow/Overflow and left their bodies in the death-water outside the arena border. In all honesty if people are wiping to the point lb3 heal is necessary it generally isn't going to result in a kill regardless especially not in pf, I always use lb3 right after the sewage disappears ( it should be there already or 1-2 secs after, you have time to throw it in there safely ).
Healer LB3 that rezzes people in the death wall will... have them immediately die again, thus gaining absolutely nothing. So while there are scenarios where healer LB3 can potentially possibly save a P2S run, I feel like they are fewer in number than with most fights.
As a result, I generally see folks blow melee LB3 immediately upon the ground being safe again. You should still have LB1 again for the final Coherence stack if a tank LB is needed -- i.e. if folks are getting to the stack too late to be topped off, or someone had a moment of the Oops and yeeted themselves off the edge of the arena with their arrow immediately beforehand so the stack is short a person or two -- and if everyone is alive and there in a timely fashion to be healed up, the party can blow that LB1 on another melee LB to finish the fight off more quickly.

Similar thing happened to me when I was level GLA. Hit 32 the night before doing FATEs with friends, had a long day at work the next day, came home logged in, went for leveling roulette not thinking about it, and got thrown into Brayflox. Immediately told the party I could leave if they wanted so they could get someone who actually had the job quest done. Was probably the best that they said "let's see how it goes". This was back at the end of ARR or early HW, but I kept agro, and there were no wipes. Lots and lots of Flash spamming, but it all worked out. Went and did the PLD quest right after leaving.A friend told me a mortifying story along those lines; it was either in the ARR level range during the Yo-Kai Watch event's revival, or in the Heavensward range while getting memories of the dying for the ShB relic. Oh yeah this is actually true too I kinda forgot about this.I'll note that it feels especially unlikely to save a run in P2S, because the majority of the time I see multiple people dead late in the fight (other than "Why were there only four people in the Coherence stack, and none of them was a tank?"), it's because they've yeeted themselves with Flow/Overflow and left their bodies in the death-water outside the arena border.

I've been thrown to the corner before because my partner was dead and had lb3 go out and I just insta die when I ress lol.
It's pretty dumb tbh feels unintentional.
But yeah I generally don't trust a pf group to kill the boss without lb3 so if it's a kill group I am going to use it.
And if it's a kill group lb3 shouldn't be needed for the healer to begin with so imo if people start getting mad at me for using it as NIN in a kill group then I think they're in the wrong.
Ain't my fault if we don't kill the boss then it's the people screwing up who are at fault.
Healer couldn't keep me up with 2 pack on me on mount gulag not even legendary pull and with 20% mitigation up. When i said if he could just spam cure 2 no reply. And after second boss got vote kicked wich i assumed they was 3 man party. Keep being bad and get angry at your tanks. Not even mad.
I wish there was some way to blacklist people without them speaking in chat.
Since it's obvious i don;t want to play with them and they don't want to play with me but i could only add to blacklist 2 since 3rd one didn't speak in chat.
