I really wish there was a "lazy/deadweight" option for vote kicking people because I recently ran into a BRD who spend the better part of Skalla either partly or completely AFK and only using auto-attacks (To give the illusion of actually being present), and the rest doing nothing but spamming heavy shot.

They weren't even trying to dodge mechanics for a fair part of the first and second bosses, then immediately bailed seconds after the instance ended.

If guides didn't matter for particular content, then why is it out there? There's actually stuff to learn. I like to do things right and not be a burden. Accidents happen anyway because there's still the matter of putting everything into practice. I think it's great that your tank is looking things up. It's helpful to know what's a tankbuster, so they're prepared for it. That's actually my main gripe in all this, especially in Paradigm. You have about a dozen busters going out over the course of the raid and the tanks never listen through the end. It's problematic.

I'm not looking for speed farm. I'm not looking for perfect runs. I have no problem helping people if they're actually open and receptive to it. There are a lot now that aren't and that's the real problem. I find myself joining a lot of parties in progress where another person had even less patience. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask folks to PF for hand holding if that's the kind of thing they need. Maybe use the novice network and mentor system as they were meant to be used.

In this game we're more likely to get a "didn't carry hard enough" option for vote kicking people.

Doing dungeons on my alt. Need to do Xelphatol. (60 dungeon).Paladin is single pack pulling so I speak up about it as he is level 75 and I’m 67. So over level and gear for this. He doesn’t respond and gets enabled by another player when I speak up about it. “People go at their own pace”. This person has been a tank for 75 levels and you’re telling me they cant handle more than 3 mobs? No. Stop. Both of you. They obviously have done this before or I’d shrug it off. Then the enabler complained I wasnt dpsing enough. So you are fine with the tank’s gameplay but not me? Right…I made sure to tell them off in chat too.

I actually have alot of stories like these but usually I don’t post em. I have been matched with people wearing lvl 1 glam gear before a few times. That was a quick vote dismiss.

God if only more people, newbies and vets alike, had your attitude towards playing a team-based game. Feel like we'd have a heck of a lot less pages in this thread than we do.

Well, not Duty Finder, but Zadnor - Dalriada.
Several First timers in the party, so I quickly talk about the gates, add a mark above my head and say "follow me, I don't get hit during this phase" (I don't like say this cause shit can happen, but hey, wanted to help).
    Guess what ?
    *Drum roll*
1st Door mech appears, at the exact moment I need to move after the first Door shot, I manage to clip my mouse on the FF14 Windows task bar (I play in Windowed screen) and move the game off screen.
3 other people died because of me.....
... I felt mixed with laugh, shame, and sorrow.
I babbled my apologies, and still feel bad about it....

If it wasn't for the fact we're on different data centers, I'd swear you were a SMN I had in one of my last Dal runs. They did the same thing; said they don't get hit during the doors, told people they could follow them, marked themselves... though in their case, they proceeded to run the entire opposite direction of most of the rest of the groups. xD Apologized profusely after.

I was in the Twinning and a new player was asking about things to know. I started writing stuff about the first boss between pulls. We get there and I start writing one more line and a DPS pulled. If you've been there, you know the first boss leads with a buster and I couldn't get out of chat in time to catch it.

Please keep in mind that if you see someone doing strange things in Duty Finder it's more than likely because they are NEW TO THE GAME. I'm new and I probably have people wondering why I'm doing (or not doing) X,Y, or Z in Duty Finder because I don't know what the hell I'm doing yet. Please be nice, thanks in advance!
